“Amazing charity that I'm so glad to be a part of, they help the rough sleepers and less fortunate in St. Helens with an array of hot foods, hot and cold drinks, warm clothing and a safe space to keep warm and socalise.”

“I have resided at the salvation army for 2 years once. Looked after me 4 two years while I came together with my first experience with mental health problems. The staff and key workers were great and the on site nurse who took me the doctors when I needed was a credit to everyone she worked with. The night staff were fantastic & made sure if you wernt well you could chat late on and the occasional hot drink if needed in between jobs. Cooked breckfast and cereal every morning & a main meal every night. Thanks 27 years down the line & I phoned them 2 nights ago because of my living arrangements at the moment...”

“This is situated towards the top of westfield street. I go in now and again for a browse because they have some quality stuff. There are the usual charity shop items such as second hand clothes and shoes but what really interests me is that they always have a few interesting books and rare cds in the shop. I like to sift through these kinds of things to find a bargain. Surprisingly, maybe for a charity shop but this place also has a changing room. So, if you do decide to get some clothes, you can try them on first with privacy. The shop is quite long but narrow so the shelves are quite close together, making the place feel a bit like a jumble sale at times. The staff are pleasant and always helpful if you need assistance, for example, bagging your goods or even directing to to another shop if they know they have something you are after.”

“If you are after decent 2nd hand furniture, pop in and have a look.. I did and got a lovely dining room table and chairs... The price most deffinately did not break the bank... The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating ... It's also a great cause...”

“One of quite a few charity shops dotted around the town, this is one of the bigger charity shops. They usually have furniture in the window and inside you can find table and chairs, second hand clothes, books, shoes and other odd items such as ornaments. I recently bought a set of scales from this place for £3 They are still working well and are probably the best scales I have had. The staff consist mainly of elderly woman and they are very nice, pleasant and friendly. I believe they are volunteers so their work is extra special.”
