I prepaid six nights at The Halyard Liverpool (~US $1,400). A visa delay pushed my arrival three days. When I finally arrived in the country ?i called the front desk from the airport whom told me my reservation had been fully canceled because I hadn?t checked in on day one. No room, no refund, no help.
I wasn?t asking for the missed nights back; I simply wanted to use the days I?d already bought. Instead, the hotel kept every cent and sent me back onto the street.
Policies are policies, but hospitality is people-first. One email, a partial refund, or just honoring the remaining nights would have fixed everything. The Halyard chose rigid fine print over basic fairness and pocketed my money for zero minutes of stay.
? No empathy
? No proactive communication
? No alternatives offered
If your travel plans involve even the slightest uncertainty, steer clear. This property treats ?paid in full? as a windfall, not a commitment. Travelers deserve better.

Wonderful stay with my daughter whilst we came to see dua lipa in Liverpool. Such lovely staff, the most comfortable beds!! And lovely setting in a great location. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay team

I would like to share my recent thoughts and experience of this hotel! The Hallyard is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It is impeccable and amazing!
Checking in was seamless! Keeva is absolutely so lovely, polite, friendly, helpful and very professional! She is a credit to the company!!
Billy What a gentleman so so nice checking on everybody that they?re okay and if need any help and he even gave treats to our dog lovely touch!
The hotel itself is WOW! The bar area and the dining area is incredible! The rooms are stunning and beautiful. The walk-in shower is to die for! The beds are so so comfortable the pillows the duvet absolutely fabulous!
Breakfast, the freshly cooked food was beautiful, gorgeous and so nice and so filling! The selection Of the continental also was brilliant!!
All in all, if you did stay at this hotel, you will not be disappointed! The staff throughout the hotel cannot do enough for you they are all friendly and smiley happy!! Can?t wait to return next month for my daughter?s Graduation!! ??????????

Our first time at The Halyard and a great experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous from the moment you walk in the door.
We had a Queen Deluxe room which wasn?t huge but was totally adequate for our needs.
The room was lovely and clean and the walk in shower was fantastic.
Breakfast was really good, hot and tasty with a good cold selection as well. Tapas in the evening were very good (see photo of chocolate orange choux bun) and drinks aren?t overpriced.
Location was great with many bars and restaurants within 10 mins walk
Overall a great break (4 nights) and The Halyard is now our first choice when staying again in Liverpool

This hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at , the room was beautiful and the atmosphere was calm and modern, the highlight of the stay was Pete the concierge, he is absolutely a testament to the wonderful treatment the hotel boasts and genuinely deserves a raise , will 100% stay again if I'm ever back in Liverpool and will recommend this hotel till I'm blue in the face

Fantastic rooms, great atmosphere in the hall and restaurant, amazing food, but most importantly the best staff! Everyone is just so friendly and extremely helpful. Will go back whenever in Liverpool!

Fantastic hotel. The rooms are perfect and they really have thought of everything. Great service
It's also a great location but slightly out of town and a bit "gritty". Some won't like it and I am sure it could get noisy as there are a number of bars in the area but this didn't affect me

Simply to best hotel I've ever stayed in.
I'm away 220 nights a year and this hotel has surpassed my expectations.
Front of house staff are superb as are the room.
Location is perfect for all shops and bars.
I will return to this hotel in the future and if your looking for a city break in the city then look no further than the Halyard.

Stayed for 1 night due to a business trip in the city. Hotel was clearly new and designed to a very very high standard.
High spec room, but couldn?t work out why the basin was outside of the bathroom, but all in all a very comfortable stay.
Restaurant was spacious, but found the evening menu unusual as recommended to order 3 dishes, but they were very small and quite expensive.
Breakfast was great as ordered from a set menu, but had the option to self serve other options.

Checked in here yesterday for one night ... Service very good the receptionist let us check in earlier... The room is very comfortable smart and clean....We had breakfast this morning exceptionally good no trouble for the staff very helpful and nice food....Will definitely come back to this hotel as really relaxed here ....
Nearby activities: Very close to Liverpool one and all the shops bars and cafes.....great location..
