Went to Smiffys on my dinner hour so didn't have alot of time. Abbie(I think) was very helpful and got me everything I needed and let me try it on for size. Brilliant costume, better price than amazon and brilliant service.

I bought the 'Fever Savanna Wig' in Deep Red on-line for £24.99 + £6.99 postage, for Halloween. I knew I would need to shape it to get it to look anything like the picture advertised. However, it was too small, the amount of visible plastic stitching at the front made it look completely ridiculous - it didn't even look like a wig!, and the quality was dreadful. I've completely wasted nearly £32. Smiffy's returns policy for wigs states "please make sure you're happy with the product before opening the packaging." How are you meant to know you're happy with the product before taking it out of the box! Do Not Buy This Wig!

I?ve been to smiffys a few times and have never had a bad experience until today which has put me off ever wanting to enter the store again. I came into this store with my younger sister when we were in town as we wanted to have a look around. We were looking at the celebrity face masks as we wanted to purchase a particular character, and after my sister had picked out the one she wanted from the display, a staff member with glasses (who I have never seen before) came over to us and started off by asking if we were looking for anything in particular so I said we were just having a look around. She then looked at the mask in my sisters hand and said quite aggressively ?did you know they were in order?? So I explained that I knew where it was from on the shelf if we needed to put it back, to which she replied ?yes okay but I?ve just said they WERE in ORDER? and walked away glaring at us. My sister was so upset that she put the mask back and we left the store, with this woman practically following us as we left. We were simply looking around the store as a customer should be allowed to do, but this woman made us feel as though we were doing something wrong. This experience has made me not want to shop at smiffys ever again. Extremely poor customer service today.

Nice choice for fancy dress, staff not very attentive, and will ignore you if they are doing a job (i.e counting the till) even though it's over 40mins till shutting. Not great when you're panic buying before a party! Otherwise, good selection, got what we came for.

Thank you Neville!! After calling Hobby Craft and Card Factory and being met with less than helpful answers, I called Smiffy?s Bold Street. A nice lady said she?d count the balloon sticks, find out the price and call me back - already great service! But then Neville, who I assume is the Manager, went above and beyond and actually went out to acquire some more balloon sticks for me! What a star. Great service. Thank you!!!

Bought a costume today for almost £50 and when I got home it's no more than a thin piece of mesh barely sewn together, the stitching is going all over the place and coming undone. I know costumes aren't meant to be great quality but this is absolutely unacceptable for the price, Its unwearable! it looks like it's from the poundland Halloween section, which honestly is probably better quality than this tat

Need to widen their accessories range, & a little pricey, can get a lot more variety online for cheaper. Staff were lovely, very helpful.
