This is my local store which I use often. Nice store, plenty of space and well organised. The staff are friendly and helpful. While queueing recently I had a funny turn which was quite scary. The staff on duty both on the till and on the floor went above and beyond to help me. They got me a chair by the door for fresh air, they gave me water, one member of staff stayed with me throughout until my husband arrived and kept me feeling calm, the lady on the till kept popping over to check on me. I could see the shop was quite busy but the staff made time to make me feel safe and look after me. I want to say a big thank you. Your time and care was much appreciated. It really meant alot. We visited the Hunts cross store today ,we were served by the most patient, understanding,polite young man by the name of Craig,he went up n above to help myself and my friend to find items that were not in the store,he went on line,even phoned other stores for us,hes a little gem and it was very much appreciated!

I returned boots today that I had bought in December, 5 weeks previously. Both wedge heels were coming off. I was firstly refused a refund by a rude till assistant. I won't share her name but she shouldn't be working with customers. I was told no receipt no refund. I told them it is faulty goods but still nothing. The manager decided I could buy something for the same price in the store. I couldn't find anything as the sale was on so I chose a pair of boots that wouldn't fit me just so that matalan wouldn't get the benefit of my money. A very kind second till assistant spoke again to the manager who decided to give me a gift card, after me going on and on. I know it's their rule but what a stupid rule. I won't be shopping at this store again especially with rude staff serving.

Fantastic customer service off Craig this afternoon.
I wanted to order items in all colours not available in store, Craig helped me with an online account & put items in basket until I got home.
Really appreciated his customer service & patience to help me .... well done Matalan !!!

If you?re wanting to return anything or pay with cash be prepared to wait for a long time.Returning clothes today and was in a queue for 10 minutes while one lady was on a return/cash till. Another 2 workers were just stood around doing absolutely nothing looking at people in queue. Eventually one them finally went to another return/cash till.Upon starting to deal with me the lady was unprofessional from the start and very snappy in the response. Four times she stopped serving me to try and help the customer on the next till who was already being served.The isle section for men was bare with not much of anything and was very messy. Many of the clothes had been put on the wrong hangers so the sizes were hard to find.Really would not recommend going here.
