The cafe looks a bit tired, the store's confusing, and a portion of the garden centre is closed off due to a legal dispute. It's truly a bizarre experience.

Fairly quiet at 3pm on a Monday. Pleasant staff. Well-stocked outdoor plants and Waitrose. Indoor sales area well laid out, and being restocked for summer.

Visited to see Father Christmas with my daughter and sister, we also had afternoon tea in the restaurant, and the food was great and the service was excellent. The father Christmas was very authentic and the setting was brilliant.

£3 for my child to play for 45 mins is so not worth it considering the size of the play area this should be free if your buying a Hot drink or food. But absolutely amazing staff member I did not get her name she worked in the restaurant and had glasses she helped my disabled dad queue in a long queue while I had 2 kids to run round after and brought our food and drinks over to us she couldn?t help us enough.

Queued for food, queued for drinks queued to pay by which time food was cold. Very expensive and food wasn?t great. Not a good experience.

Took the children to the grotto. It was beautifully decorated. The elf at the entrance was great and put us in a festive mood. The queue was about 25 minutes but there was an activity to do along the way. Santa was brilliant and interacted well with the kids. Only downside was the photo, the lady who took about 2 seconds to take it and didn?t try to get the kids attention. They came out terrible (kids face covered) so we didn?t purchase and was glad we didn?t buy in advance. Luckily we got a few good ones on our phones.

We called in one morning to have a look at the Christmas Sale. First thing that hits you is it is cold throughout the building ??. Wear a coat ! We ventured through to the café, I ordered the full breakfast, Wife was a bit more picky but the Staff where accommodating. We had to wait a couple of minutes top pay as the assistant was away doing something else. The food was actually quite good but unfortunately not at all warm. We noticed that food such as rolls and cakes where all out and ready at 9.30. Maybe customers would be better served if staff concentrated on one mealtime at a time ? Leaving food out and uncovered, although in a chiller, must dry it out. Just working on breakfast for the first couple of hours will give a better breakfast experience and fresher food for later.

We had a family afternoon tea and as far as the food went we couldn?t fault it. It really was well presented and delicious. However it was freezing cold, other than bringing our food we didn?t see the waitress again. We would have liked to order more drinks but there was no service. The table was clean, mainly because food including egg mayo had been wiped on the floor under the table. Garden furniture was uncomfortable. Won?t be rushing back

The grotto was AMAZING!! From the second we walked in, the elves made us all feel very festive and made the experience completely magical. I don?t think they get enough credit for there hard work. Santa made the experience so so special. He was great with the kids and completely embraced the roll of Santa. The photo was perfect and will keep it forever!!! The only thing was that we were waiting in the line for a while. But apart from that, this really made my christmas. Thankyou dobbies! Will be coming again next year.

I had the misfortune to drink one of the sloppiest hot chocolates I have ever had here today. The chocolate powder was mixed with water (not milk!) and then there was some half hearted effort to mix it with some more warm milk, resulting in a concoction that was frothy of water, with half the powder completely unmixed, sitting at the bottom of the cup. Had I wanted watery hot chocolate, I would have gone to a petrol station and had bought one from an espresso machine. For the price paid, I would have expected more from Dobbies from a sit down, lovely special outing with my daughter. Very disappointed.
