Relaxing atmosphere at off-peak times, right in the city center, excellent for a break, breakfast, brunch while from the windows you can observe the great movement of the city. Average quality of cappuccinos and coffees (for England), wide variety of choice between desserts, croissants, cakes and savory dishes.

Very disappointed, called into this Costa while visiting town. I use Costa alot and never seem to have a problem.
This one was very busy and I decided to use the self service tills thinking would speed up the process. How wrong could I be, it looked quicker and easier to ordered at the counter as they seem to be getting served their orders straight away.
After waiting 15 mins yes 15 mins I decided to ask how long my order was going to be and was told by the confused looking staff members oh it's this one on the counter.
Very disorganised no one seemed to be in charged shouting orders out etc.
I get it was busy but think if was more organised might of run better
My advice if you visit this Costa is not to use the self service tills

I have been a regular customer to this place for the last 2.5 years. I think it is probably the best cafe in town for studying and working.
The coffee is great and the staff are wonderful.
However, every winter the place gets busy and super humid. The ventilation is always switched off and the windows are full of condensation.
This is extremely unhealthy. The place is full of ACs and they should be switched on to ventilation function. The manager of this branch should take prompt action as this increased humidity increases the risk for respiratory infections and it has been always the same issue over the past 3 years.

Went to use the toilets before ordering after being out in Liverpool all day. Got to the toilets which were in a mess with lots of rubbish over the floors but as my partner went to go in to the toilet a staff member said that he would remove the rubbish first for her but then went in to the toilets, closed the door and locked it. After a couple minutes we gave up and left. You missed out on selling 4 drinks thanks to that member of staff

Loved new layout and ordering system. Staff area seems to be more spacious and happy for that. You only have to order yourself and you can collect when ready. Ground floor less spacious than upper floor and We spent around £3-£6
Hope the company is looking after the staff in the way they are thinking about the customers

Stopped by on a rainy evening to kill some time. The Staff were very friendly!
But the drinks were average and the store was filthy. Table I sat at had a tray and cups on it with a receipt with a time 4 hours earlier than I arrived. All the tables had cups and trays on them but the place only had at most 15 people in at the time so it wasn't busy.
Toilets were gross and no hot water.
Floor was sticky and covered in litter.

Excellent Costa coffee, modern, clean with enthusiastic manager (from Surrey) and great team.
We had breakfast both in and had takeout. Nice friendly welcome whether eating in or takeaway. 5* other coffee shops close by could learn from this Manager & Costa. Keep it up..

Appalling service. Waited nearly 15 minutes for 2 iced drinks. Husband thought I'd been kidnapped. No apologies for the wait, 2 or 3 staff talking when they should've been serving and no regard whatsoever for the other customers patiently waiting. Never again.
