GREAT HOMER STREET BARNADOS CHARITY SHOP, LIVERPOOL
Stinky attitude and zero customer service skills from one particular member of staff, (I won?t name names but the manager knows who it is as I made a complaint to him today 5th August 2024)
Not the first time its happened with this particular member of staff, she goes out of her way to be unhelpful & snotty in all types of scenarios and situations.
So there is a fresh donation bag by the doorway of the stock room full of computer games, I?m not just going to root through them so I decide to clear it with this particular member of staff if I can have a look through the bag (knowing what her response will be as it?s happened numerous times. Her response was the totally expected ?NO? !! So I ask why ? Her response ?ermm because they haven?t been processed? i could understand if I was asking to look at something that was at the bottom of a pile of stock in the stockroom and it was hard to get to !! But this was an open carrier bag right by the doorway !! I said it?s a disgrace (the reason I said something this time was because to be honest I?m tired of putting up with her attitude) I also said, that it?s tiring how you are always so unhelpful, she then shouts over the whole charity shop that I?m barred, she instantly went into victim mode it was pitiful. To be honest I think today and in the past she has discriminated against me, why I don?t know !! what I do know is I spend a lot of money in the shop.
I guarantee any other charity shop assistants response would of been or should of been ?yes, no problem and if you find anything let me know and I?ll get you a price for the items? as this response shows willing to help and good customer service, the donations are there to be sold after all !!
Another example - I purchased a pair of Air Jordan?s from there a couple of weeks ago, they were priced at £40 which is a lot of money, so I stood in the shop and was doing a bit of research online to determine whether they were legit or fake, I could feel the same member of staff watching me it was obviously upsetting her !! I mean how dare I research an item in her shop !!! I turned to her, I?m sorry for taking so long I?m trying to determine if they are real, her response ?they are definitely real !! which seemed an odd statement as she didn?t come across as a professional ?authenticity grader of Nike air Jordan trainers? so I asked how she knows they are real ? Her response ?because I?ve already done all the research your doing? anyway to cut a long story short I bought them and a few days later returned them as it turned out they were fake, which indicates that she in fact hadn?t done the research she said she did she was just saying whatever needed to be said to get the sale !! So you can add on unscrupulous to her C.V along with non existent customer service.
