I seldom have to use the train to travel around the North West but if I do ever need to, then it shall probably not be Moorfields due the state of the station (as previous reviews have detailed). It may not be the central station in town, however it could do with a makeover since it appears dull to say the least. It also has a lonely atmosphere as it has a long and wide stretch of tunnel. Especially if you're on your own during less peak times, it feels quite dodgy. In terms of finding your way around, it can sometimes be puzzling with the lack of sign-posting and assistance. It does feel as though you've been swallowed up in this subterranean world. Central station or James Street station would be a better bet, which are not so far in the city centre even if it means walking a few extra minutes.

This Liverpool train station is a bit creepy in my opinion. There are never very many people around, and it can have that "abandoned warehouse" feel that scares the heck out of people when they are travelling alone at night. I really wouldn't recommend that women use this train station at night if they are alone. I believe there is one semi-clean loo, possibly a kiosk, and a ticket booth but that's pretty much it. I always prefer Central Station or Lime Street over Moorfields and James Street. They feel safer, cleaner, and much more pleasant.

When you leave a platform to exit you will be faced with a left/right choice indicated Moorfields or Old Hall Street. it's a long walk if you go the wrong way! Use Moorfield exit forcity centre shops and the waterfront. Use Old Hall Street for Register Office, the Passport Office and the JMU residences.

Another station with a long walk to be faced. However, its the place to catch the inside out building. This is a normal office block, and a perfect circle has been cut in the outside, maybe thirty feet across, and it turns a circle. That sounds crazy, but google the inside out building on youtube, and you'll see what I mean. Moorfields is the best place to see it. Its also one of the best stations to use to get to the Pier Head, the Albert Dock, the Maritime Museum, and the Liver Building - tho these places were built for work, not tourists, so its still not particularly easy. It is great, tho.
