My beloved Grandmother is 94 and needed full time care so my Husband and I moved in with her instead of her going into a care home. I never realised how draining and upsetting it can be looking after a relative (especially one who is prone to urine infections!). Carers from Abbey Care come in every morning to assist her bathing, dressing and with personal care (her skin is very fragile and her mobility is limited). We have several Carers on the rota and every single one of them are Angels! Not only do they look after my Grandmother with such devotion they also look out for me. They listen to any concerns I might have about my Grandmother's health and because they have a combined knowledge of caring for the most vulnerable in our society they are able to advise and assist me in making decisions regarding her care.I have witnessed the senior Carers taking calls when one of their clients is in danger (dementia patients going walk about). Some of these clients have no family near by to assist and a call will go out to all Carers in the area to do a drive by to find them and return them home - this is while waiting for a space in a care home to become available. During the pandemic they sacrificed time with their own families to make sure their clients were properly cared for. This company goes above and beyond what is expected of them because they genuinely care about their clients - it is not just a job to them. While getting her breakfast ready I often hear my grandmother's laughter from the shower room which is such a joy. She has lived a full life of service to others and in her Golden years she deserves the very best and we have found that with Abbey Care and I am so very grateful for all of them and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
