We went over the Easter break, we didn?t have a reservation but they fitted us in, my husband had the Ray wing which he said was delicious and sent compliments to the chef, we were served by a delightful young lady who we later found out it was her first day.
We have visited the Devon Doorway a few times and find all the staff very friendly and attentive.

Went here today to celebrate my dad's birthday, who passed away 6 months ago too. we took the dog because it says dog friendly but we wasn't allowed to have a bowl of water next to his bed. Also gave no interest in what my brother had to say. what kind of place is dog friendly but dogs can't have water by their bed! very disappointed. up and left and spent our time and money somewhere else.

Rude untrained staff, terrible overpriced food and drinks. Don't waste your money - there are many good options in Heswall that will give you great customer service and quality food. Steer clear!

We came for the Sunday roast dinner it was served hot and was delicious will be back again and was served by Eloise nothing was to much trouble polite and very friendly staff we will definitely be back

Clean, warm,not over attentive staff reasonably priced good quality food, good portions. We had roast bit more expensive than usual pub roasts but delicious plenty of gravy reasonably portion of roast potatoes not just 1 or 2. Lovely comfortable surroundings. Only one negative point food bit cold food needs to be hotter it wasn?t cold but was not very hot either. Could have been the fact it was a very cold day outside. Will definitely visit again !!!

Dinner as a family to celebrate our parents 44th wedding anniversary, we were so well looked after by Grace and the team. My parents had their wedding reception here, and a lovely bottle of bubbly and a specially presented dessert tonight meant the world to us!

Seated promptly soon as we arrived. Staff bought menus over and took drinks order while we were looking at menu, bought our two smaller group members some colouring. Food was lovely and hot, drinks were good, fire roaring. Staff very friendly. Lovely pub would recommend

Fantastic experience- thank you Graeme and Alex! Came with my friend today for some food and a few drinks. The food was really tasty and cooked perfectly, prepared by Greame the chef. We were served by the lovely Alex who made the experience amazing with her friendly nature and excellent recommendations. Will definitely be back :)

Booked Devon Doorway for a Birthday Meal for 2. Needless to say the food was fantastic as always Had starters of Creamy Baked Mushrooms and Chipotle Sticky Chicken Mains of Fillet Steak x 2 Dessert of cheese board selection and a Trio of Dessert Chocolate Brownie Apple and Damson crumble and Berries Pavlova Topped off with English breakfast tea and a Vanilla Cafe Latte The food was exemplary and served by our knowledgable and courteous friendly server Eloise Would recommend this fine food pub /restaurant It always delivers Can?t wait to dine here again very soon Thanks again Rob

We didn't get the name of the meet and greet but she wore maroon and was a largish lady. She was very rude and arrogant on our arrival. Snapped at us that we had been left a message to say our table had been put back by 30 mins. We didn't get that message. Very argumentative. There were no starters for our grandchildren as there was on festive menu and Christmas day. They got about 10 fries each. We asked for more and had to pay £3.99 for a few more extra. Hardly any veg with our meals. Waiting on staff were very pleasant but meet and greet horrible.
