Terrible customer service my daughter recently visited this store she had a tin of baby milk on the bottom of her pram that she had just purchased from boots on leaving the store she was confronted by the store manager who asked her was she going to pay for the baby milk after complaining she was offered a 5 pound gift card what an insult if I could hae given 0 stars I would have very unprofessional she will not be returning to this store neither will any of my family

Five stars to Joy, a Waitrose employee, 1 star to Waitrose for not having a policy to protect staff from customer's rude behaviour.
Went to Waitrose for my shopping and was on the self checkout, the lady looking after the checkouts was helping me, her name is Joy. Joy was very nice, helpful and very patient. Suddenly this customer rudely called her and started shouting at her because she nearly tripped on a cone that was there due to a spillage. Not Joy's fault at all, Joy politely told her that the cone had to be there because it is policy when there is a spillage. The customer was so rude, asked for Joy's name and said that she was going to make a complaint about her to the manager. Joy managed the situation very professionally. I think that similarly to other places Waitrose should put a notice saying that rude behaviour towards staff will no be tolerated. I go to Waitrose frequently and see how some customers behave towards staff and think that this is very unfair. Making a person that is only there to help you a victim of a customer's ignorance should never be condoned.

Don?t usually post bad reviews but cmon Waitrose yr breakfasts are shocking. Bacon roll small /microwaved, everything prepackaged but not prepackaged prices. Push button latte was revolting tbh , McDonald?s coffee is way nicer and I passed up thinking yrs would be better. How wrong I was.
Avocado on toast also prepackaged and lemon taste is overpowering on top of very dry toast. last time I went to Waitrose cafe everything cooked and proper hand made coffee from decent machine , we stupidly thought would be same experience but horrendous over £15 for cup tea , awful tasting latte no better than vending machine or poss worse and lemon flavoured avocado , get yr act together Waitrose or just close cafe so better ones receive more deserving custom , just met my local friend who was shocked I chose here so can?t be that wrong!

I tend to visit this store every other week. It's too expensive for me to do the "big" shop, but it does have some things I can't find elsewhere. Most of the offers they have are genuine bargains, and the essentials range is fantastic quality and value. For example, their washing up liquid is amazing, much better than the far more expensive well known brands. I always call in after work, mid-week, around 6pm, and find it very quiet - which I love. The staff are very variable, some are fantastic and you couldn't fault, others seem very dismissive and rude - which is why I've taken a star off. I know from my own experience that it's hard going working in a shop, so I hate criticizing them, but you've got to show consideration and manners to customers as a minimum, even if you're fed up or having a bad day. There seem to be a lot of employees here that have sadly forgotten that.

I love shopping at Waitrose in formby. A huge majority of the staff are friendly and efficient.We were delighted when the free coffee was reinstated and it?s been working really well except that there is only one machine and when it breaks down it seems to be out of order for days at a time, always ?waiting for parts?. I?m sure that a big business like John Lewis can get repairmen out inside a week. The machine was out of order last Saturday, 3.2.24 and it?s still out of order today, a week later with no sign of any repair work being attempted, we shop most days.We do appreciate the coffee, we realise we pay a premium for our purchases but we?re happy to do that for the benefit of the coffee.We think that it might be ?non urgent? in the eyes of the management, but it?s a lovely boost for us.
