Me , my partner , my 4 year old and dachshund dog had visited Formby beach for the first time , we couldn?t find our way back to our car as both of our phones had lost battery . We were walking for well over an hour and came across the cafe on Harrington road , asking for there help they gave us directions and water was available outside the cafe for our dog. The lady working there and a younger lad pointed us in the right direction but seeing we had a bike a dog and child the young lad gave my partner a lift to find our car and bring it back to pick us up. We didn?t eat here however the food looked amazing and they offered dog friendly ice cream too, when we go back to Formby beach we will definitely be visiting the cafe again. The staff today didn?t have to go out of there way to help us but they did and it didn?t go unnoticed . Thank you Rachel, James Theo and Bruno ?

Food is good, wide selection and really pleasant staff. Only downside was the cost, bit overpriced for a sandwich and another only cash establishment, granted a cash machine is nearby but should be standard now. Oh and dogs allowed (if you have a dog) just ignore the odd swearing you might hear from the odd patron

Arrived towards the end of the afternoon for tea and cakes. We'd been walking on the beach with our dogs and needed a hot drink! A very friendly welcome indeed. Good strong tea in a proper pot, nice coffee and hot chocolate, and lovely cakes, with a garnish of strawberries! Water was offered to us as well, and served with ice and lemon - a very nice detail! Treats for our dogs too! The café was closing but we weren't hurried out. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return. Thank you.

Food undercooked. One meal missing an item. Mediocre quality. Not made aware cash only. When asked how the food was and we gave feedback a dismissive response.

I stumbled in The Harington as I was driving past and felt like a late lunch. Customer service was brilliant and made to feel welcome. I had an idea what I want eg cheese and ham sandwich. What was made was fresh and additional idea of crisps ? was perfect ?. Right up my street. I would revisit this cafe and recommend it to any of my friends and family..

Three of us cold in for a coffee and a sandwich. The sandwich consisted of blue cheese and nuts on lovely fresh crusty bread. Delicious. We finished with cake which was also delicious. Very friendly, warm and welcoming. Ticks all the boxes.

We visited this gem of a cafe after a walk at Formby with family. We had two dogs with us and looked for somewhere to accommodate them and us. Luckily there was room for us all and we were made to feel very welcome. The food we ordered was just lovely - homemade, tasty and reasonably priced. It?s obviously popular with locals and visitors as there were a steady stream of visitors even on a wet Sunday. We look forward to going back. Especially Monty and Alfie who were very appreciative of the sausages!

What a gem of a cafe. Very dog friendly and the owner host made us welcome and brought free sausage treat for our dogs. Food was great with home mae chicken and sweetcorn soup. Lovely hidden gem of Formby. Hope to be back soon. Brilliant thank you Paul for the warm welcome.

I have never written a review before but I am appalled by the lack of service or help when I came to The Harrington today and feel others need to be made aware of the rudeness of the manager. I arrived with my 2 young children and a friend, my son needed a nappy change upon arrival. I was told by a young waitress that I could use the disabled toilet but there was no changing table! I asked to use a chair so I could change my sons nappy before ordering food for 4 of us. I was then rudely ?greeted? by the manager and told??We do not accommodate for that here!? ?I can offer you a piece of cardboard for the floor!? and that ?I could not use a chair for my baby, because it would be unhygienic for the customers!?. I am so taken aback by how I and my family was treated at this cafe. No apology, no suggestion to help and instead I was left completely insulted and made to feel like I was out of place by asking for somewhere to help my child. I will NEVER be coming back here again. They accommodate for dogs, disabled people but not for babies, how? I hope the manager thinks long and hard about her choices and actions towards me and my family today, and changes facilities at her cafe to help future customers of all ages!Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly in the slightest!
