This is my second time having a bad experience at dapa. It saddens me to write this review but I always try to support local independents as much as possible for obvious reasons. The first time I visited, I had to wait 45 minutes for a peppermint tea. When I enquired where it was after 20 minutes I had horrible attitude back towards me. When it was placed in front of me it was in a dirty cup and not a word was uttered to me.My second negative visit I felt as if I?m sat in a glorified youth club. All the waiters friends had taken the majority of the seats and were being loud and obnoxious. The waiters were talking to their friends whilst I was waiting by the till to be served for a good few minutes before I was acknowledged. Their friends were going in and out of the kitchen and were behind the bar area helping themselves to cakes. I?m utterly shocked at the foul language used by the staff and their friends. The management team need to step in desperately.I write this review with only well wishes and issues that have been mentioned be addressed

Saturday morning and this little place is busy but only has 2 staff out front so it took a little while to get served.Looking at the menu, breakfast offerings are limited. However pastries priced at £3.95 is a little bit over the top for the very average croissant offerings that they had. That?s London pricing for a fabulous looking filled croissant.Coffee did not taste good.Toast was made from the cheapest loaf possible.I had high hopes for this little local business but alas it was a disappointment.

Poor quality coffee beans used in their coffee, not a patch on the 2 chain cafes near them, cake again let down by cheap ingredients.

This used to be a great coffee shop when first opened. Great coffee and cakes. Over the last year its really gone downhill. In the summer I waited 30 minutes for a coffee. Another time when ordering food it took 45 minutes to bring out 4 sandwiches. Dirty plates and cups were piled everywhere. Currently staff seem like they don't want to be there. This week I went in for a coffee and cake. Hardly any cakes and they had run out of coffee beans (a coffee shop!!) so another wait. Just seems like the owners don't care.

Advertise two vegan toasted sandwich options, but neither are available. Nothing else vegan. Either start taking stock control seriously, or remove vegan options from the menu, then you won't disappoint people.Vegetarian options: Basically no vegan options, despite advertising that they are available.

Looks nice from the outside, the service is unfortunately very slow, not enough staff . Waited 30 minutes for 3 coffees and 2 sandwiches. The food was left out on the counter for 10 minutes while they were waiting for a server to bring it to the table. We went up to the counter and got it ourselves, after asking was it ours. Thin sliced white bread was the only option. The tables we pretty much left in cleared. Could be so much better.

Just a lovely little cafe with really good coffee and friendly atmosphere. We had a cake which was really nice and there was a singer playing outside in the autumn sun.

We will definitely not be returning here.First of all no prices on the menu.We ordered a cheese and ham toasty a cake, a tea and a latte. The tea and coffee arrived, teabag stuck in a glass cup of water nothing provided to put the used bag on, had to use the napkin.A ridiculously long wait for the toasty, which was dreadful, not toasted properly, dry and little filling, most certainly not worth anything like the £6.50 that we paid for it.On complaining the staff were disinterested.A very disappointing experience.

Dapa is a really interesting independent coffee spot in the heart of Formby village. Surrounded by chains, it is a rare and welcome change of pace! The decor is different, interesting, and to some a little odd. But personally I'm a big fan, and appreciate the risks they took differentiating themselves from the local competition.Service was quick and efficient. The coffee is INCREDIBLY bitter, at first. But once you get past that, it's actually very nice. The latte art was okay, which immediately makes it better than almost every other Cafe nearby, but there's definitely still improvements to be made here as the milk clearly wasn't textured right (see photo).Highchairs and outdoor seating were both available.

2 days on the trot I've been in and 3 negative experiences centred around rude staff without customer facing skills.Day 1 - drinks brought over without a word and put down.Day 2 - served people ahead of me and then a "£16.50, tap there....". Pause, I waited for a "please", nothing. When I said "please?" I got a direct stare from the boy behind the counter arguing that he did say please.A small note should you wish to go places in this world which I'm sure you do and can. No matter the job you're in, or how you're feeling, especially in the service industry... 'please, thank you' and a smile. Without it people will vote with their feet as I do.The only reason I didn't walk away was as I joined 2 other people late on.Terrible attitude from all 3 members of staff on duty

Rude staff, no manners... A lack of "please" / customer facing skills in general. A place I'll not return to. I can forgive a missed word but 2 days on the trot (a similar experience previously too) and when I raised it the response was not one you'd expect in the service industry. A shame as it's actually a nice place on the high street but one I won't return to.

We entered and looked for a table, I asked a young member of staff if they had a high chair she replied ? if we do it will be at the back!? The high chair was sticky so we cleaned it, I went to order & waited for the 3 young members of staff to finish chatting & asked for a tea, hot chocolate, a strawberry milkshake and two cakes, we got the hot drinks & cakes, the coffee & walnut cake was stale so I returned it and they replaced it with an orange & blueberry slice, I asked if the milkshake was ready & they had obviously forgotten it, the new piece of cake was hard & stale but the staff were so busy chatting I couldn?t be bothered to queue and request another replacement? the milkshake arrived & it was very nice. I?ve been here a few times and found it very nice however there didn?t appear to be anyone in charge, everything was sticky the cakes were stale there were dirty pots everywhere and the toilet was disgusting, no toilet roll or hand wash.
