Recently changed my dentist at this practice and today I saw Dr Edward Atkin. Excellent appointment- everything he did was explained in detail and as a nervous patient I felt very comfortable. Highly recommend him, especially for patients who get particularly het up about thier dental appointments!

Not very happy as I can never get through to reception and every time I go they are always chatting and not doing anything so why are they not answering the phone???

Fitted with a massively oversized crown that irritates side of mouth. It seems that it would be too difficult & very expensive to rectify. Joke dentistry.

A dentist in Blundellsands. Don't get excited. I had a course of treatment that through delayed porcelain work, cancelled and delayed appointments and incorrect fittings lasted TEN months to get a simple few teeth sorted. After all that I think I outstayed my welcome when one abcessed and needed pulling and they created a 'missed' appointment out of the blue to discharge me, Now in pain a month later in the same area they cant find me an emergency appointment just insisting I call some emergency no in Manchester. They say different - registered elsewhere.

never send out reminders of appointments or due check ups. been trying to contact them since last Thursday to find out when my appointment is as the receptionist said it was Tuesday, today, but my appointment card says 5/5! Can't get in touch at all and as I've moved it's too far to travel to just to check. I've emailed and left phone messages and got no reply. Think I'll be looking for a new dentist today as this one is rubbish. Oh and ive had tooth pain for several weeks, couldn't get an appointment straight away had to wait two weeks and when I finally had my appointment the dentist said everything looks fine see how you get on and come back in a few weeks. :/

Although I was worried this was going to be a formuliaic franchised dental surgery with a clinical feel, but i was pleasantly surpised. It is a converted house very close to Blundellsands & Crosby train station, and remains very undeveloped, retaining the charcter of the original building. There is about five dentists and an orthodentist at the practise. My dentist is Laura Jones, very young and glamorous for a dentist (!) but she is very down to earth and proficient. She doesnt reccomment any unnecessary treatments, and is calm and reassuring if you are a nervous patient. This is still a NHS dentist which is becoming increasingly rare these days, so it wont cost you a fortune for your treatment. What I also like is that you don't have to wait weeks for an appointment; you can usually get onw within a week if you're flexible, and they do early mornings and evening appointments as well. This is a good dentist with a friendly local feel.
