We ate here as we were staying at the Premier Inn, staff were all lovely and welcoming. We were served by Ann C who couldn?t do enough for us, lovely lady who chatted to us and our 8 year old, she is an asset to the pub. Food was gorgeous and pub had a lovely warm atmosphere x

There were 11 in our party, including 2 kids and 6 Premier inn meal deals but the waitress and Manager were nothing short of superb in getting the orders taken and the kitchen for getting our food out at the same time. The food generally was good and high praise given to a sirloin steak so I'd recommend the place.
Parking: You have to enter your vehicle registration when you arrive for 3 hours parking.
Kid-friendliness: The Waitress was wonderful with the girls.

I?ve been to the Packet Steamer Beefeater many times without issue, but my latest visit was disappointing. I ordered the surf and turf, and while I appreciated that they were willing to replace the chips with three onion rings (since they don?t offer sweet potato fries), the overall experience fell flat.
Firstly, the wait was nearly an hour before any food started arriving, and it came out sporadically. My meal arrived 10 minutes after everyone else?s, and it was stone cold?apart from the onion rings. The calamari was a major letdown, too. It was practically non-existent, as if they?d just emptied the crumbs from the bottom of the bag onto the plate.
The staff seemed very understaffed, and the elderly lady working there was doing her best to hold things together. She deserves credit for her effort but clearly couldn?t keep up.
While I?ve had good experiences in the past, this visit left me disappointed. Hopefully, they can address the staffing issues and improve food quality.

Food was fresh, hot and very good portion size - really enjoyed the gammon and chips. I loved the option of a refill drink. Inside the restaurant was very nice and clean. James made our meal enjoyable being so friendly working very hard to deliver amazing service with a smile which we appreciated. Would go back again for another meal couldn't fault it.

Went if for a breakfast at 10.15 say went to order at 10.36 the person ( John said they had stopped serving breakfast at 10.30 ) why didn?t he tell us this when we walked in then I said to him why didn?t he tell us his reply was we?re not going to tell every customer when they walk in wow what customer service Lee in mind he never once come up to table we had to ask him to order thought breakfast is till 11 no 10.36

We come every year for our Christmas night out and have Christmas Dinner with friends, it was very disappointing this year as No Christmas Dinner and we're not informed that it was unavailable due to meat contamination in factory and that they wont be doing Christmas Dinner at. All.
However the steak was cooked to perfection no compensation or anything for the fact all 5 of. Us wanted a Christmas Dinner.
Our server made the night go well.

Honestly it was so busy after 2 hour wait we where served it was loud obnoxious and really quite cold the feed was good but by the time we got it we where so fed up we wanted to leave
