This place is soooo slow. One staff member at any one time meaning if there is a que you could be waiting ages . 2 people in front of me took me 20 minutes to serve me and by the time they go to me there was a que out the door. They must have waited ages. So if you want to use a post office dont use this ine unless you like waiting ages

I?m surprised at some of the comments here. I have had nothing but good experiences in this post office by all the staff. I stopped going to my local post office because they were always trying to over charge me. Here, everything is explained , when posting items. I find the staff to be thorough and very pleasant, so thank you, dacre hill post office ! ?

People need to know that if you are queueing up at the post office to save time by not bothering if you want to pay with a card on a phone. For some crazy reason it's there own law that this is not allowed. You can find a card on the floor and pay with that . You can't open your phone using your own thumb print and pay through your own card on your own phone.I advise that these post clerks need training in new technology as I have never known this in any other shop.AVOID

Went to this post office today, bread milk and cigarettes when I went to pay with my card on my phone this post master said I can?t pay as I can only pay by phone depending on what I?m buying, i didn?t understand this and he told me I had to have my card with me and he was was very rude. We all use our phones now , I felt embarrassed how he spoke to me.

Fab little post office :) It's so good to have a local one where all the staff are fast, efficient and friendly, and you don't have to queue for that long. Of course there are odd occasions where there is a little queue, but that's nothing compared to the 3/4 of an hour you'd most often have to queue in the Birkenhead one (when it was there). Country-wide post offices are disappearing fast - so support local!! #saveourpostoffices

Nice little shop and they are always helpful.

All of the staff are lovely - no exceptions. They have been working extra hard in the difficult circumstances of this awful pandemic to make sure that everyone can benefit from having a small local post office & convenience shop. We have nothing but praise for the wonderful team at this post office.

Blonde lady is lovely and smiley, the service is speedy when she is there. The general feel of the post office is hostile, the other lady is a jobsworth and in the handful of times I have been served by her makes you feel like a naughty school child being told off. I have arrived at the post office at 16:55 to the door being shut in my face, however the opening times state 17:30 online. It?s a true shame, not a smile in sight from the other two members of staff.

First time I've read or left a review re DH PO. Very surprised at the comments made re one of the staff...I've always found her to be helpful and professional....just because she doesn't smile on demand is no reason to assume she's not a nice person. She is after all at work. It's not the fastest of P.O's but its local and we'd all miss it. As for the wait times...there is usually only 1 staff member on duty who deal with parcels, letters, queries, groceries lottery etc etc etc. Give the girl a break! p.s. yes, I mean the one with the glasses! p.p.s. as for the 'jobsworth' comments....rules are rules!.

same as all the other comments - the blonde lady is so lovely, as is the man who works in there. HOWEVER the absolute jobsworth with the glasses i think her name is HELEN? is the most foul and miserable worker i have come across. she really gets people down, this is my local post office/shop and now i completely avoid it at all costs i would rather travel further than be served by her. her attitude is vile and she clearly isn't fit for the job.

It's gotta be the slowest and most uninviting post office out there. It's a cross somewhere between a library and a mortuary. There was a queue outside the other day and I couldn't tell if people were coming out of the dentist or the post office. Anyway I saw someone i knew in the queue and coz it was a nice day i decided to walk down to the post office by lidl down old Chester road in rock ferry. After using that post office i walked back up to dacre hill and was absolutely amazed to see my mate, still standing in the queue and hadn't even got into the shop yet and I'd been to another post office and back again on foot. Really slow with no personality what so ever. C'mon you can do much much better than that
