I went in here to get new number plates about 20 minutes ago. The fella in the reception said they don't do them and I should go to the Halfords in bromborough. I said I have been the other one and they told me to come here. He then said I'm too busy today and for me to come back in the morning. He lied, why?
Terrible customer service. Turning customers away and lying about it. It looks like I'm not alone looking at your reviews.

Said I needed a whole new exhaust system to pass an mot costing £880 to pass an emissions test. Exhaust only had 1 little hole in it. I went elsewhere, got a back box for £190. Took car back to halfords where it passed the mot.

Had a major service and MOT done. Car had issues changing gears after. Rang them up to ask whether they knew anything about it. "We don't do gearboxes here not our problem."
They'd left the air pipe to the MAF off the engine and it had fallen down in the way of the gear lever.
Unprofessional. Complete lack of attention given to the work. Avoid.

Disappointed with Halfords. Called in following an engine coolant warning and they said they can't sell coolant unless you book your car in. Fully booked, so had to go elsewhere with an engine on the verge of overheating. Won't bother with this lot again...stick with independent garages.

Not a great experience.Went in and asked for a price for discs and pads. Said would not quote, brake check required! I explained I could give my registration number or vin code, but chap on reception said full brake check needed as he needs to know disc diameter. Poor salesman, and based on all the other poor reviews, customer lost!

I booked my small standard car in for a blowing exhaust and received a confirmation a few days later. When I arrived on the day of my booking, the recepionist couldn't find my booking under my registration plate despite the confirmation I had showed the proper details. Eventually they managed to locate the booking somewhere after asking me for my reg plate three times.
Halfords then called me back a few hours later to say they could fix the exhaust for £285.00 (£155 !!! for an exhaust, £35 !!! for a small clamp and £95 for labour).
I refused and collected the vehicle as this was far too expensive in my view.
The very same day, I then went and bought a brand new exhaust for £54.00 and a clamp for £10.00 from a well known car parts supplier, 1 mile away from Halfords (probably the same supplier Halfords would have gone to themselves). I then got a mechanic to fit it for £45.00. Total £109 (saving £176.00).
Moral of the story is.....Don't let this rip-off company take your money when you can get it cheaper for exactlty the same outcome.
Halfords also didnt do the 5 point Car Check which it was booked in as.

UPDATE: Chantelle clearly didnt reply to me which just goes to show that even the customer services in Head office don't care about their customers. Their loss !!!!
Update: Halfords have now deleted Chantelle's reply to me and Nathan has now commented. He hasnt told me exactaly how to reply to him and I already have a complaint in the system with Halfords, which I am getting passed from one one post to anyother post. Halfords Head Office obviously havent got a clue what they are doing. Please see my last email from Tiffany Taylor and also another email from Charlie.
PLEASE RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT CORRECTLY.
