Nice historical hotel. Rooms are a little outdated in decor but comfortable and immaculately clean, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked with high standard of produce used. Staff pleasant and polite. Bar is well stocked but shut a little too early. The hotel was used by 617 (Dambusters) Squadron RAF during ww2 as their Officers Mess and has a wealth of memorabilia from that era. A very pleasant stay in one of the cleanest hotels I've ever been too, would go again.Noteworthy details: WW2 memorabilia from 617 (Dambusters) Squadron RAF

Fabulous place, I have never stayed where staff were so welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, so many things to choose from and full English was spot on.Only thing I thought could have been a bit better was the service from reception. As we were new to this hotel, nothing was explained where things were, we were just given our keys and told which direction to go to our room. The rest we had to find out ourselves. I think it would have been nice to ask if we had stayed before, if not just to point out to where everything was, ie... bar, dining room, toilets etc.

Grand ole Building, has some history behind it, and loverly location a min or two outside the Village of Woodall Spa. However the rooms are tired and lacking to modern look. I know this is not perhaps the way this hotel wants to portray its rooms, but the room we stayed in was in need of some TLC, cleanliness around the shower tiles, the shower it self was awful and you had to run around in to get wet, some lights not working, windows hard to open and then shut again. The Carpets are Cream colour, and grubby in the room.We asked about Breakfast in the morning and the staff could not tell us cost or about the meal!!! So we went to the village for a nice full English breakfast.Rooms: Tired and need of deep cleaning
