We were staying in Wainfleet last week and popped in for Sunday lunch. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for dinner later in the week. The Sunday lunch was the best we've had in ages - good, well cooked food with a nice selection of veg. We prefer a traditional Sunday lunch and this hit the spot just right ? Recommended.

Just returned from a two night stay here.Did the job as we were staying for a friend's birthday. But I do want to point out a few things hoping it will help others thinking of booking. No breakfast although advertised as a bed & breakfast on all booking sites. So expensive at £70/£90 a night dependant upon which booking site you use.Room was just average, very small couldnt get round the bed. And only cafe in villiage didnt open on Saturday. So only morning food option is local coop or a journey into Skegness.Table covered in old spilt coffee and room was very dusty and cobwebs. Clean sheets (I did check that)Clock in square chimed every hour and we are not used to it so kept us awake most of both nights. Would have helped if this was mentioned. Although I have seen other reviews now that do mention this. So I didn't do enough of my own homework.Room right above bar entrance door so again significantly noisy, with people going out for puff & talking past midnight.I know you can expect this when using pub accomadation but in honesty it was too much, then people waiting for taxis at past midnight after the bar closed.Fire door on room corridor propped open to stop it slamming. Not sure if another visitor had done this or the owners.Beer prices very expensive in comparison to a pub down the road which had a wider selection of tap options.Good points. Cheap honest pub grub served in the evening until 7pm. Portions generous.Parking in square opposite good.Extra milk, tea & coffee for the rooms provided and left on a tray in the corridor to take to your room.Would we stay again? Not at this price when we have since looked and found cheaper better quality accommodation in same villiage.Felt like asking for a refund regarding the breakfast.Check out is leave your key in tub by residents entrance.Rooms: NoisySafety: Fire door propped openNoteworthy details: Not the cleanest. Not a B&B or hotel. Its a B. Bed only accommodation.Small basic room

A decent pub. We stayed in Wainfleet for a few days so went in here for a couple of beers one night and for 10 of us to eat another night. The people there are nice, there is a good choice of beers and other drinks. The food was ok, it was not amazing but this is more of a pub than a restaurant. The portions were a good size and we managed 10 main courses, 10 puddings and a couple of drinks each for £300 which felt good value.

We visited Wainfleet with the intention of shopping for a specific item but found the shop closed. As it was lunch time we tried the Woolpack. I am in total agreement with earlier reviews that this is a gem. We both had vegetable lasagne and it was the best we have ever had. Staff were friendly and service very good. We will be back.

One will see from the amount of 'Reviews' that I have undertaken, that I really do try to look at each venue objectively, and I intend to do just that with the Woolpack. My wife and I had been out for a mornings 'cruise' around the coastal area, and came across Wainfleet on our way toward Boston. The car park in the middle of this delightful small quaint town was relatively quiet and parking was easy. Across the road was the Woolpack Hotel, which in former years must have been at the hub of this town. Lunches were advertised, and we entered. Our welcome was extreemly warm, and the young barman was quick to explain the menus, and advised where we could sit for a meal. This hotel must have an extraordinary past, as it is large and made up of a number of rooms, all furnished in a somewhat 'eclectic' manner, but very pleasant and apparently I would suggest finding it difficult to run as a viable business. Our order was taken, our drinks refreshed, and after a very short time our meal of 'gammon, eggs and chips ' was served. A simply superb meal, with all the trimmings you could wish for, and at very very fair price. 10/10 to the chef, but I hope someone is caring about portion control, as this meal was certainly one for a hungry soul. No 'designer' has been anywhere near the furnishings of this establishment, but it was clean and just delightful. I really wish the encumberts good luck, I would love to return, and for anybody passing through, this is a pub/hotel? that I can highly recommend for a really interesting stop. Good luck to you !

We asked if the dog could come into the pub as we wanted to eat , and they where very welcoming, gave him water and a biscuit. Food was tasty and a good price , I had chilli and asked if it was hot, the bar lady said she doesn?t eat meat so couldn?t comment, her colleague said it?s warming inside , it came with nachos was really tasty and flavoursome . My husband had steak and all the trimmings all, cooked to how he likes it and pipping hot We played darts, and the bar, lady gave them to us for free no deposit needed . Really enjoyed our few hours at the Woolpack .

Camping in area and called in for a quick drink with wife and Springer, greeted by a really nice freindly lad ( Connor ) behind the bar,and and a nice lady too, my beer was spot on, the wife's lager too, those two things friendliness and good beer make a pub, would have stayed longer but our dog was on full energy capacity : ( will call again, liked the place ....Food & drinks: Well presented drinks, spot on taste and good value priced

Enjoyed the Bateman's Gold and the vegetable lasagne. Popular local pub with typical pub food. We had a lovely evening and noted a lot of guests from the Brewery campsite were also enjoying the place.
