The pub and restaurant are both excellent. The quality of the food is superb and Ellen, Chris and the staff provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Every meal we have had there has been vey good with great and generous portions. Highly recommended.

Stopped here overnight in the motorhome, parking was free as long as we used the bar and restaurant. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is amazing, really good portions of well cooked food, would recommend the steak and ale pie, a proper pie encased in pastry, filled with real chunks of steak and served with seasonal veggies and mash, lovely. The desserts are superb. Pool table in the bar, which is free on a Tuesday. Had a chat with the owners who are looking to develop the pub in the future, I wish them all the very best and would definitely come again if we are up this way.

Great friendly local country pub.
Amazing food - fish and chips were large and tasted amazing.
Dogs very welcome.
Well worth a visit or even a long detour to visit.

Pulled up in the motorhome, asked if it was OK to stay in carpark over night if we ate and drank in pub, apparently it wasn't anything issue .
Really good food, good quality, the best ever apple crumble, staff were really good and a credit to the pub.

Lovely food, great friendly service.
We had the Gammon. Really nice thick portions of Gammon & thick chips, peas, egg & salad.
I would definitely recommend.

Great landlord and landlady. Extremely pleasant and welcoming. Atmosphere very relaxed, food is ace. Would fully recommend fish & chips and Sunday roast.

Generous portions and great value for money. The food was really well presented and tasted even better than it looked. I can really recommend the chicken in creamy mushroom sauce. The chicken was tender and the sauce just right. For dessert I had the blueberry and almond tart which was delicious. This was definitely the best meal I have had out in a quiet a while and I do eat out regularly.

Totally brilliant stopover in our campervan for the night, welcomed by Ellen n Kris the owners for drinks and dinner. Food was superb and not at all expensive. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.very local pub with superfriendly atmosphere ?
