Dog friendly restaurant area (can't say about the hotel as we only went for lunch).Outstanding service even during the end of a busy lunch rush. Great tasting food. No booking required.Walkability: Right at the edge of the town high street. Excellent location if you're looking for a central place to stay.

Just returned from a one night stay at The Crown in Stamford and can't recommend it highly enough. So much so this will be the longest review I have ever written! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a gentleman with a lovely smile who showed us to the reception. The lady on reception was really welcoming also, explained how to access the car park (a huge plus in Stamford to have an onsite secure car park) and warmly checked us in, gave us a map of Stamford and then personally showed us to our room in the Townhouse across the road from the main building. The room was number 31 and was stunning! On walking in the room it was so inviting with stylish decor and furniture with lots of lovely touches, a wonderful 6ft bed, high quality toiletries and tea/coffee/hot chocolate were complimented by a delicious flapjack and a great bathroom with the best walk in shower ever. Everywhere was extremely clean and the bedding was crisp white cotton, a medium/firm mattress with fantastic pillows and duvet too. After unpacking we returned to tge bar and enjoyed a flat white coffee with a complimentary flapjack served by such a warm, friendly and welcoming gentleman who also served us at breakfast the following day. We had a super day exploring Stamford and the following morning was blown away by tge continued excellent service and incredible breakfast (high quality produce, beautifully presented and deliciously devoured). We enjoyed our stay so much that on checking out we booked to return again later in the year and have opted for a signature room in the main hotel as a surprise to look forward to. The lady checking us out was so helpful also, offering to check the prices for various days we were interested in booking, nothing was too much trouble? Thankyou all x hotel is clearly extremely popular with guests staying and also locals with the bar area always busy with customers enjoying the ambience and superb produce and service. There is an outside seating area also which would have been lovely in warmer weather with ample seating and an outside bar. Can't thank the team at The Crown enough and can't wait to return. Thankyou x Sarah and Jackie xNoteworthy details: Book direct for best rates

A truly wonderful privately owned establishment of the highest order. I have had dinner and afternoon tea and drinks here and everything is top notch. Great decor inside and a phenomenal garden area nestled right in the heart of this ace old town. Well done, highly

It?s been renovated and lost its original character and I?m sceptical it?s an improvement but it?s been a long time. It?s a pub with everything to match but very good location. Not easy to make these places special at a price point but I had an enjoyable lunch with an old friend.

Amazingly cute hotel! The perfect hotel if you're looking for cute, quiet, quaint, and very British. Loved the night I spent in this adorable hotel and will definitely be back for a longer stay with family. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I stayed in a lot of branded hotels for work and stayed at the crown because a supplier recommended it since it was close to the area I was visiting, and it was the highlight of my trip.Rooms: Every room is different. Some have showers, and some have tubs with sprayers only. Make sure you ask.Walkability: Perfect location in the heart of the town.Food & drinks: Adorable restaurant with great food and very friendly servers. Breakfast that was included was delicious.

This is the 2nd time visiting, it will be the last. The young barmaid was very nice but the rest of the staff could do with customer service training. Very busy with people drinking coffee, I just wanted a quick drink, no problem but if you haven't booked a table for lunch forget about it. No I couldn't sit at any of the 8 or so empty tables and was told so by a rude guy pouring the drinks. Did not ask to stay for hours, just a quick drink 15 minutes. I understand the tables have to be set for lunch, a glass, a napkin, knife and fork and they have been booked but when said tables are not being used for a good hour?Managed to find a table newly vacated but staff were hovering, maybe a bit more communication with customers and treating drop ins with a little more curtesy wouldn't go amiss. Stamford is a fantastic town but with snooty attitudes at the crown I wouldn't recommend anyone bother to visit...
