Unfortunately due to a lack of staffing, you cannot easily conduct a transaction with a teller. Instead they encourage you to use the cash machines. Which I did on the 29th of August. The machine could not do the cash deposit transaction and spit the money out, but managed to get £20 caught in the cogs of the mechanism. It then reported to have an error and although it gave me my card back, it didn?t give me my money. I reported this to the unhelpful lady who was asking people why they were there and again to the teller. They advised me that the £20 would be in my account at the end of the day, but I had no proof of this as I wasn?t quick enough to take a photograph of the money caught in the machine. The money was not, and has not been deposited in my account. Now. £20 is not a lot of money, but it?s my money and if this is how the bank staff top up their wages then it?s disgusting. Trying to speak to an actual human about it with Santander is impossible. I would highly recommend NOT using the cash machines to deposit cash.
