Husband called in last week on the 10th September first time for many years, we had a take away fish & chips and 1 fish cake and for some reason the fish cake was burnt at the bottom so very disappointed and all of the meal was very greasy, will not be visiting again any time soon.

Absolutely disgusted, me and the misses have been here a few times had a couple of nice meals. So we thought we would go for another meal. We ordered our food misses order hers which she had one home made fish cake instead of the 2 that was offered as was to much for her. With that she had chips curry sauce. Then came to ordering mine i order 1 sausage which i ended up getting 2 sausages i asked for 1 standard fishcake which when brought out was frozen. I sent it back there was no remorse of replacing the whole meal. When they asked how was the meal i told them why wasnt the temperature checked with a probe. Didnt know what to say and came out with a load of ramble. When i came to pay they knocked the fish cake off but no sorry or discount off the bill with disfaction of the ruined meal

I visited this fish and chips restaurant for the first time for dinner at 4.30pm on Tuesday 11th November 2025. They open at 4.30pm. I just ordered a small cod, chips and mushy peas with a pot of tea. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good with a radio station playing and the team of young ladies serving were lovely. I would definitely recommend.

They get busy so be patient. COD and chips were well worth the wait and the price.

Food was vile. Avoid this restaurant. \n\nChips hardly cooked and cooked in cheap or or lard. Burgers was okish but everything tasted of the cheap oil.\n\nProbably the worst food I've ever eaten\n\nAvoid!

We would have scored it more, but the cleanliness of the tables, floors, chairs, windowsills etc left a bad impression. This was not one day or an overnight amount of dirt, it was significantly longer. On the plus side, staff were very friendly and helpful. The fish and chips themselves were really good, thick white flakes of a very large piece of fish (regular) and tasty chips all for £12.65. Just to add the fish was slightly greasy...

Really light batter on the fish and they do serve generous portions \nNice chips \nTea bags have been a bit weak on a couple of occasions but def go to place for sit down fish and chips

Superb, stopped here on way back from Lincolnshire, glad we did. Small cod, chips, mushy peas ample for us with smaller appetites & very reasonably priced, will definitely be back. Very friendly, pleasant staff, young but very capable

In Stamford from Nottingham to meet a friend for a picnic near the river. British weather put a stop to that when it started raining, so decided to take cover and have chips here instead. \nThe staff are all so lovely and friendly and couldnt be more welcoming. \nWe were served by a young girl ( long dark hair) who was amazing. \nThe chips are probably then nicest Ive ever had. Hot fluffy and huge portions. \nThe view of the river and meadows is lovely so the setting is really lovely. \nHighly recommend a visit for great food, and fantastic staff who are all friendly and welcoming.

If I could give zero stars to service I would. My partner two kids and I went in on a Tuesday lunchtime. Ordered inside (which took forever by a seriously unhappy young man.) I ordered 4 meals in takeaway boxes A) so if there was leftovers from my 2 and 3 year old I could take it with me and b) to save on the washing up. Finally I got our meals and just as we were all settled (enjoying the tasty chips) we were told by the same unhappy young man that we could not dine outside with our takeaway boxes and we were in fact to sit on the benches 5m from the venue. What a joke. Apparently there were signs. Tiny signs I?m sure, and not ones that I looked for. There were about 3 spare tables outside and zero ques. Evreyone in the restaurant literally said to me, that?s ridiculous and they wouldn?t have moved. I should have asked for 4 plates quite honestly but at that point I just went ahead with the ridiculous rules. Won?t return, rude staff ridiculous rules, nice chips.
