Ordered a gluten free La Reine & dough balls, which took nearly an hour to arrive. The food was cold (and very salty somehow?), meaning the only edible thing was the diet coke.
Very disappointed, since I've ordered & ate in here many times, with this being the first time this has happened. I hope this is a one-time problem, but has put me off from ordering here again.

Pizza Express Stamford is not my favourite branch but it?s up there in the top five, great location next to the river and we?ve always had great service when we visit. The atmosphere is always relaxed. The food is as you?d expect from any Pizza Express.
The only gripe would be they seem to have squeezed more tables in so you feel like you are sitting extremely close to the next table.
Dietary restrictions: Nice to see more gluten free options.

Lovely views of the river from the tables near the window. Nice staff and food ok but not wonderful. Good for the offer price we paid. I found the tomato base of my pizza overpowered the taste of the other toppings. The side salad we ordered was lovely and fresh.

Pizza was very small around 10 inches for a margarita £12 was extortionate ,pizza express have put the price up and reduced the size of the pizzas, rude unhelpful staff no wonder the place was empty ,a rip off it was probably because we used a voucher code we were treated like second class citizens it's a disgrace this was at lunchtime

We had a bit of a wait to be seated, everyone seemed to be busy but it would have been nice for someone to acknowledge us sooner even if it was to say someone would be with us when they could.
Service was good and friendly when we were seated.
The food was very nice!

I enjoyed the lunch and the service was good.
However, I was disappointed to have been charged for a glass of tap water!!!!
Attached is a photo of the bill.
We did not have a "cordial jug" but did have everything else on the bill.
I can only assume that it was a charge for the tap water. If so, that is very poor.
Update - Nearly 3 weeks have passed since my initial feedback and as I'm not planning on making a special journey back to the restaurant to "show my bill" to prove that I was charged for water (possibly), I did upload a picture of the bill for review but have not heard anything more.
Not very good customer service.

Had a lovely time at Pizza Express Stamford. Food was good, children looked after, the price with the kids eat free reasonable and the service and server excellent. Sadly it is all too common to find poor service in restaurants these days but this is not the case here. Well done all.

Went the other day and at first thought the food was a bit expensive. but once it arrived it was clear it was prepared with care, love and fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. So in terms of value for money 10/10 only negative for me was a family with 3 kids crying and occasionally screaming(won't be the case for everyone) but ignoring that the theme of the architecture and furniture paired with the service of the very polite and hard working employees I can confidently recommend to anyone wanting to treat themselves or friends/family to a sit down meal at the end of a busy week. You won't regret it. 5 stars

Will never go back! Has to be one of the worst experiences of dining I have had in a long time. The level of noise in that dining room was absolutely horrific!!! Cutlery being thrown about, plates clattering, staff shouting, guests raising their voices constantly , in order to be heard above the awful racket!! Tables too close together and food not good enough to put up with it all!! Exhausted looking salad and overdone pizza. Wow!!

What a terrible experience we had during recent visit to this small town Stamford. We are visiting from Florida, the owner first won?t let us order pizza around 9pm asked his kitchen staff if he has ingredients? What? If you are open for business you must serve or change your timings. Next day we decided to go earlier in a day, he won?t let us dine in coz we did not have reservations even though half of restaurant were empty. I have reason to believe the owner is racist and prejudice. I am a restaurant owner, he should have find a way to accommodate his customers. I checked online he had tables available for reservation. We decided not to spend money on his ?pizza shop? and ate lunch at Turkish place. If he is in Florida I would have taken him to court for descrimination. I wonder if he is a franchisee they must take action against this guy rude and non professional behavior.

Arrived 10 minutes late for a booking and the greeter tutted and looked at his watch. It was like being shown to my table by Basil Fawlty. Not dining here again.

I have eaten in this restaurant many times and been happy, unfortunately that wasn?t the case tonight. I ordered my normal leggera pizza and the base was really thick, despite being described as a Romana pizza on the menu. It made it very dry with not enough topping. The whole idea is that this is a light option so please don?t make the base thick. I was asked how the food was and I told them of my issue with the base and was dismissed with a we changed that ages ago. I pointed out that the menu still says Romana and was told - yes that?s very confusing. I have come home hungry. Felt that my complaint wasn?t taken seriously at all
