Food and drinks are delicious, but portions quite small and not all menu items available. Service is friendly and helpful but forgetting - said to come back in 2 minutes to take our order and disappeared.

After finally getting a place at this pub after 3 years of trying I can say that it was a decent experience. The staff offer great customer service and are very welcoming and there is a great atmosphere because it is very busy.
However, I was disappointed with the obviously frozen fries that accompanied my burger, my brother who had fish and chips had homemade chips. The burger itself was not anything special and lacked seasoning or flavour, I also detected a small piece of gristle in the burger that wasn't very pleasant. If I buy a burger from a pub or restaurant and for a premium I expect to be presented with locally sourced high quality burger and fries but this didn't reach that standard, I might of well gone to a popular burger chain for less than half the cost.
Update on response: Thank you for your reply. I think you have a great historic pub and all I want is for the food to live up to the location and service you provide. I forgot to add I wasn't too keen on the metal trays as it reminded me of more a fast food location. Anyway I look forward to revisiting if you improve.

Totally love the Kings Head. The cosy interiors, the music, the menu and the staff are absolute vibes. The whole atmosphere is totally different to any other pub in Stamford. Always somewhere I bring friends when visiting Stamford and the first on the list if we?re popping in somewhere for a drink. Cannot wait for winter to take full advantage of the cosy yet vibrant vibes.

Consistently our favourite place in all of Stamford. Been here a few times now and we just can?t stay away. From the cosy rustic atmosphere to the delicious food, everything here is perfect and not to be missed.
The service here is fantastic, you?re greeted like an old friend and it?s table service, so there?s no need to get up from your seat, though I encourage you to in order to look at the selection of beers and ales on offer. The drinks are just as good as the service and pair perfectly with the excellent food. On this particular visit, I had the Crumpet Burger, which was absolutely fantastic. The beef burger was juicy and meaty, topped with Brie and salty bacon. The portion of chips on the side, in my opinion, is perfect and they?re crispy and hot! Plus, everything is locally sourced so it?s all incredibly fresh and you can really taste the difference!
All in all, a great place to grab lunch in Stamford, to catch up with mates or enjoy a relaxing pint after a day out shopping. As always, I can?t wait for my next visit.
Vegetarian options: Although I didn?t try them, they have plenty of vegetarian options in the menu and they all sound great!

Nice pub with a pleasant atmosphere. Limited menu. Ordered chicken burger and frieds and a bacon and cheese burger with fried...which quality wise were lovely and the taste was nice. But quantity.....very poor, about half the size portion we've had at other establishments. £35.20 for a cider, a coke, 2 burgers and chips which when they came out looked like kids meals. Won't rush back.

Cute little pub. Only had a drink in the afternoon but we will return. Looks like you have to make reservations for food. Friendly people for sure.
