Very disappointing lunch in the cafe, ordered fish finger panini, fish was grey, overly cooked and unappetising - oh and not cheap either. Didn?t complain at the time as in a larger group.

Albiet the garden centre is trying to provide so many things to so many people it's a mess - there is no plan no structure no identity it's trying too hard to keep up with the bigger garden centres and failing. It needs scrapping and starting again. Suggest you go to a bigger successful one and decide what you want to offer. It's confusing a shack here and walkthrough here and walkthrough the middle of a butchers to cafe - it's hiddly piddly - got great potential if the right people had a vision ?

We visit a few times a year - and usually great - but our recent visit was let down by average food and more so by the dire service from the middle aged woman who seems to be in charge. We were made to feel like an inconvenience just be being there - no manners / no smile / no apology when your table hasn?t been cleared for 30 minutes / no other staff can take an order - her presence and attitude created an uneasy atmosphere that spoilt our meal. Based on this - we would not rush back

Food was good but had a long wait and the service was very aggressive from a middle aged women. She didn?t make us feel welcomed , more like we needed to pay and leave

Efficient and friendly service in the bistro cafe. Lovely food and great value for money. Would highly reccomend for lunch, or just cake and drinks!

Lovely Saturday lunch. Didn?t pre-book which i guess would be an advantage, however they managed to accommodate a group of four. At this point it usually goes South, but it didn?t and we received great service from all the team. The food was lovely and we all enjoyed our meals.Well worth a visit.

First visit here despite staying near Stamford many times. Very popular restaurant and our visit did not mirror some of the negative ones posted here. Why would one person comment about the car wash when we are reviewing the restaurant, is beyond me. I also discount reviews from people who make negative reviews on their first and only contribution. Breakfast here is first class. Perfectly cooked with local ingredients accompanied by great coffee. Service from Tilly and Jake was perfect also. My wife had the smashed avocado on sourdough with salmon, I had the large breakfast. I only wished I lived closer but my waistline would suffer!!! Will try lunch offerings when next this way. As for the Garden centre how it is said to mediocre by one reviewer is beyond me. ?

So they like to poison customers in this place allergens are not declared on the menu. When you order egg mayo and cress and get egg mayo mustard and cress. Nice going when will you get it right when you kill someone. Seriously poor kitchen will never be back and really don't recommend it

Garden centre itself is quite nice. However, DO NOT USE THE CAR WASH. They stole my AirPods from my car. I spoke to a member of staff in the garden centre who reports this to be a frequent issue. Don?t understand why they would continue to rent the space to a ?company? who they know are stealing people?s property? Also - they couldn?t give me any details about the staff working the car wash, apparently they didn?t have any information on them (which I wanted to use for a police report). Am now out of pocket £20 for a substandard car wash & £200 to replace my AirPods.

My first visit to this eatery was today with my Wife around lunchtime. We were shown to a table and sat down in an unoccupied area, save for one other eating a meal. The menu had already been passed to us by a very plesent and helpful young man. Strangely he returned about 5 to 8 mins later, we thought to take the order, but he apparently wrote down a couple of table numbers and left. By this time the area was filling up with customers. Behind use two young women appeared and were taking orders, then left again, although we had been seated way before the other customers. After a wait staff appeared again serving drinks. At this point we asked the waitress why we hadn't had an order taken let alone served because we had waited a very long time. The reply was, "I'll have to check the list". At which point she left and after another 5 mins of waiting we left after a total of over 20 mins of being seated and not even an order for drinks being taken. Our opinion is that staff need training in front of house and waiting. If someone is seated with a menu the drinks order needs taking immediately and then the order for food taken on delivery of drinks. We left not only the restaurant, but the garden centre too, without planned garden purchases, such was the degree of disappointment with this visit.

New place to us - Friday lunch time, in the hope of eating in the Stamford Garden Centre Bistro on spec, after a hospital visit. As we were in 2 cars & needed easy of parking with heavily pregnant lady, disabled lady & small child. My husband & I together with with daughter, son-in-law & 2 yr old grandson headed for the Bistro area, through the amazingly mouthwatering Simpson butchers area to find the Bistro incredibly busy. But after juggling their bookings, the helpful, friendly staff couldn?t have been more helpful in accommodating us. The buzz in the place was great, tables well spaced with really lovely decor on the walls, plenty to talk about with our grandson, who was quickly supplied with a good wooden highchair. We were instantly supplied with menus, (just wish there hadn?t been so many sheets of paper) & also noted a specials board on the wall. The choice with tempting, items not usual Garden centre Fayre, with all meats advised as being supplied by the in-house butchers we had walked through. Drinks order swiftly taken, then delivered, then we had a little wait before the food, order was taken but in that time noted many tempting looking plates being delivered to other diners. Four Lamb Koftas with pitta, salad etc (jacket, beans & cheese for the little on) order taken, then the food was swiftly delivered. It was absolutely delicious. We then ordered cake from the cake selection menu (so no getting up to choose from a glass case) & it together with individual pots of tea with cups & saucers arrived promptly. We had a lovely wander around the Bijou but well stocked garden centre afterwards. Buying a couple of items from the butchers for tea. We will return when we need things for the garden & to buy from the butchers & to eat again at the Bistro. Thank you Stamford Garden Centre, you made my Birthday.

Garden centre itself was okay though quite confusing layout. Just seemed to have to wander no directions on where to find specific plants or other garden accessories. Overall very expensive. As for the restaurant/bistro extremely poor customer service. It was busy and the food did look good but they just couldn?t cope with the number of customers. Got a seat quickly but no menu. Asked for menu and told would bring one. After 5 minute wait was then questioned about who had sat us at the table. Then returned and asked which menu we would like. Then returned and told breakfast was over but could have lunch menu but couldn?t take out order for 15 minutes. Not even an offer of taking our drinks order. Glanced at the menu and decided it was well expensive for what they were offering so left.

I have been a regular visitor for years and live locally. The restaurant has always been excellent band supported the mediocre garden centre. Now the restaurant is terrible. Food dull, portions reduced in size, especially the cakes. Staff constantly changing and uninterested. Apart from one excellent girl

Visited on a Monday afternoon for a quick coffee. There is absolutely nothing worth visiting here for as the service is absolutely rock bottom awful. The staff all stand around chatting and completely ignore the customers. We were ignored and even when we waited at the counter to pay 4 different staff completely ignored us so we gave up in the end and left the money on the table. I was disappointed I didn?t have the exact money as it meant I had to leave a tip which was certainly not justified. There was another member of staff eating behind the counter during our visit, again very unprofessional. There are cupboard doors falling off. This place needs a manager? or a new one. Really don?t bother and go elsewhere unless you like being made to feel like an inconvenience.
