Stamford is a lovely town to visit in Lincolnshire, wide streets with 16th and 17th century buildings.
Lots of nice cafés and interesting shops, many Churches and many Pubs. It's name was adopted by Stamford, Connecticut, United States, founded in
1641.
We visited nearby Rutland waters and had a 40 minute boat trip around the very large man made reservoir /lake, very reasonable cost, well worth a visit.

We attended the St Gilbert's school Christingle service. It was a lovely time, with the candlelight making the interior glow in a medieval way! Note that on street or public car parks are your only options. Outside Christmas that is not a problem.

A substantial church in a prominent centrally located site in the town. Has some colourful painted angels on the ceiling inside. It also features a prominent sundial, which is a modern addition, commissioned in 2012 for Queen Elizabeth's 60th milestone year. 2012 was also the 50th anniversary of the Stamford Civic Society. Information board about the sundial is set in the grounds just below it.

All Saints is situated in the heart of Stamford. All Saints' Coffee Bar is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Their warm area and soup kitchen is a great addition to the Unity Centre, which is open every Monday at 11:00 a.m. and free to use.An interesting architecture and the exterior is well preserved. Pop in next time when you visit Stamford.

A large church found in the centre of Stamford. Some very old graves around the edge..The graveyard area itself is quite small, but then it is right on a main road..Very pretty inside with some glorious stained windows!

Visited Stamford on a day trip and stopped in the church. What a welcome from the 2 ladies and 1 gentleman. Had a tea and husband had coffee and ginger cake which he said was lovely. Definitely worth a visit on a Friday

Very much like a cotswold town with most buildings in honey coloured stone.
