We traveled from Norfolk to meet our friends from Derbyshire, and Picked to Tobie Norris as half way and Dog friendly (as we have a greyhound). What a fabulous choice this was, as it has great atmosphere, the staff are so friendly, and really made us all (including our dog) so very welcome. The selection of drinks was great (especially the house wine) but the food was absolutely first class. The pricing was good value and included some great offers. We all went away very happy and will be back in future. Thank you to all staff.

We went for lunch on what we knew would be a busy day. However, the moment we stepped in we realised it was busy to the point it was chaotic. Got our table we pre-booked, great. Ordering food was tricky as I suddenly became invisible at the bar. The staff were great as having a disability they helped me carry drinks up. Food arrived timely, but was a major disappointment. Dry and my Katsu calzone was tasteless, the lamb burger was good but dry. Staff however were amazing. I would def go back for a drink. A bit reluctant for food.

The best pub Sunday lunch just like home cooked. The food was hot and delicious and a good selection of vegetables perfectly cooked. Meat very tender and tasty. Our group had roast beef, lamb and pork so a good selection and all perfect. The pub is so atmospheric, olde worlde and great Christmas decorations. Staff were rushed off their feet but still very efficient. The only downside was we had to wait over an hour for our food but the wait was worth it and gave us time to chat. We were not rushed to leave after we?d eaten. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Lovely lovely pub. Beautiful surroundings. Really looked forward to Sunday lunch. But it was nothing special. I had turkey. But it looked like a big pig in blanket and was dry as a bone. So did not eat it. Actual pig in blanket was tasteless. Loads of red cabbage. Swimming in it. Roast potato?s were frozen ones. Really disappointed to be honest as was really looking forward to it

Went for a Christmas shopping trip with family. We have visited once before last year we had the Christmas lunch. Food was lovely and freshly cooked. The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It is a unique venue with lots of history and old artifacts on display. I would recommend it for just a drink or a meal in a unique setting.

I had the Calzone Pizza- It was only half cooked and the underside was just a soggy dough - completly uncooked, I ate a little but couldn't finish it! Do not go for this menu choice unless you have a very stong stomach!

From the outside the building looks old - but not particularly big. However it is very deceptive, as it goes back a long way and also up 3 floors. The pub is divided into many separate areas, so you aren?t crowded into big rooms with lots of other customers, and each area is packed with character. The food arrived quite quickly, and with the exception of one item, was very good. The Herb Crusted Cod, at £19.95, was described as coming with Patatas Bravas, but the cod was served on top of a 6? (approx) circle of something more like the consistency of potatoes mashed into a tomato sauce. No cubes of fried potato as I expected, so that was disappointing, and while there were a handful of green beans sandwiched between the potato and the cod, there were no separate vegetables on the plate. However, everyone else in the group had lovely meals, so it would be unfair to base the review just on one person?s food. The chicken and ham pie was particularly praised, and came with a large selection of vegetables. I?d definitely visit again, but equally definitely, wouldn?t order the Herb Crusted Cod next time.

This pub was good for a market day visit. Great welcome and an atmospheric location for a date. Unfortunately the light bite consisted of a roll filled with cheddar which literally exploded as the warmed roll was cut into. The roll was too hard and the cutting action simply threw out the grated cheddar. It was very messy indeed

We had an early Christmas in Stamford as we can't be together over the festive period and celebrated at the Tobie Norris. Sunday lunch was superb with pink beef as requested, fresh vegetables and delicious yorkshire puddings! The puds were excellent too. Alisha looked after us beautifully and she couldn't do enough to ensure that we had everything we needed. We had a dog and toddler with us so we were quite demanding!! Thank you for a brilliant start to the festive season and to all the staff who were fabulous. We will be back!
