I had the most amazing Christmas dinner at the Woodlands. Gan and his team are always the most wonderful hosts. Thank you for all you do, and look forward to visiting again soon!Food & drinks: Had a fantastic Christmas dinner but have enjoyed many meals and celebrations here.

The hotel is very tired.Staff were very nice.Room wasn't properly cleaned. Lots of small hairs in bed (looked like arm hairs, possibly from cleaner). Shower had lots of mould and limescale (see pics and video).Tea/coffee tray not cleaned from last guest.Inside of kettle made me want to vomit. Lots of floating limescale and chunks inside (if you're in a hard water area you need to use descaler such as Oust to regularly clean appliances, tip there for you).Sink in bathroom was cracked. Both bedside lights didn't work, and 1 bulb was even missing (lights need to be checked when you clean the rooms).Breakfast was included but basic, although sandwich I had was very nice (compliments to the chef).Noisy rooms (ground floor). Why is furniture moved around above randomly?) Always the same in old hotels/b and b's...! I didn't have a good night sleep.Furniture was not cleaned properly and also badly stained. For the price of the room (even though breakfast was included) I wasn't expecting the Ritz but it was way over priced. It's probably worth £60 a night, not £94.Would I return? No, not if I had other options.Rooms: Not properly cleaned. Shower mouldly. Kettle disgusting.Food & drinks: Pints at the bar were expensive.

Only stayed one night. Our room okay. We thought it needed a bit of TLC and an update of some of the furnishings.

We were a family group of 3 couples - and stayed for 2 nights at the Woodlands Hotel. The stand-out things about Woodlands were the warmth of their welcome, the super-accommodating staff who couldn't do enough for us, and the quality of their catering. Our rooms had everything we needed: kettle, tea & coffee, TV, hot showers, toiletries, WiFi, hairdryer, and adequate sockets for phone charging. (Extra towels, pillows etc were available on request). The beds were comfy, and the blinds/curtains kept the rooms dark until morning. We were not disturbed by traffic noise. Breakfast was splendid and plentiful. Though evening meals were not cooked on site, they could have been brought in for us from our choice of local restaurant on a comprehensive list. The hotel bar was small and cosy, and we were all able to order the drinks we wanted, and could relax in comfort. We had a very happy stay here. ?

We recently got married at the Woodlands and had the best day. Gan and Nicky were nothing but friendly and helpful in ensuring everything would run smoothly. We chose a package where they arranged the hot roast and DJ and this just made everything so easy for us. Our family and friends booked out all the rooms so it was amazing to have exclusive use of the venue. Lots of car parking made it a great spot for those travelling to attend. You can?t deny the fact that the hotel is some what dated and there are definitely areas that require improvement but that is lost in the background compared to the customer service and feeling are the foreground. I enjoyed breakfast but a few thought it could be better ultimately I feel that is down to personal opinion rather than something lacking. Our wedding definitely wouldn?t have been as good as it was if it wasn?t for Gan and the team. Thank you all

Have just held a birthday party at The Woodlands. Perfect venue for our needs, the staff were excellent, very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for any of them. They buffet provided was good and plentiful and was kept replenished during the evening. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone hosting a similar event

The AA needs to re evaluate it 3Star rating !! The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. No service, you had to ring a bell, the cook alway had earfones in !!!

Very dated. Room big but the shower room was just a little small. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was average. Buffet limited. Ample parking. Staff friendly. No plug socket near the kettle so had to move to the dressing table. Wardrobe not easy to open.

The atmosphere in the bar and the dining room was perfect for Jan?s celebration. Added to this the food was well cooked, nicely presented and the service was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, made possible by the ambience created by the owner and his staff

Refurbished bedroom. A rare occasion when I couldn't fault anything. Hotel has a good car park and facilities. Wedding party had taken dining rooms, but we were made aware of this when booking so we dined elsewhere in the evening. Good well presented breakfast - gluten ftee!

Held our Lions Charter Dinner, we were greeted by Front of House, Ann, and made to feel very welcome. From the start of the evening we were treated to Exceptional food and service. Nothing was too much trouble to make a fantastic evening for us all. ALS Disco played music to suit our needs and held a full dance floor until the end of our evening.
