Called in on a lunchtime to grab a quick coffee, the person who was serving looked at me and my partner in disgust, rolled his eyes and said it would take a while, the place looks old and tired, there were no customers in which I'm not surprised about. The whole place is void of atmosphere. Definitely will not be calling in again. I will take my custom elsewhere

If you want a good proper pub with a restaurant and a real fire, this is your place. And it's affordable.

Been here a few times for the carvery. Its value for money. Food is always good. Staff never seem happy though. Guy who serves the carvery doesn't seem very friendly or chatty. Theres a car park at the rear of the pub.

We didn't have rooms, but we did eat and drink there, good food, decent pint all at reasonable prices. The bar staff and landlord are friendly, and the pub has a really good atmosphere.

With the exception of my mum's, the Sunday roast was by far the best I have ever had. You were given the choice of 2 out of 4 meats and they were thick chunky slices. The gentleman serving us (the owner) was happy to oblige when I asked for the "end" slices of beef as I prefer my meat very well done. Even so it fell apart as I cut it, as did the other meats (we all had different). There were 6 different types of veg available that were also cooked to perfection. As for the gravy, well that was just delicious and obviously home made. You could help yourself to however much you wanted. Trust me, if there is fault to be found, I will find it and there was none.

Only went for food, but let me tell you the steak is unbelievable for the money and the steak pie is to die for, bar staff are great, friendly and a warm welcome.

Went in the restaurant as a carvery is advertised on their website as being on Thursdays, this was not on. Chose from the main menu. Food was average but the waitress was clearing the table as we were eating, not only on our table but the only other one occupied. Felt rushed and obviously this should not happen. Would not recommend.

Absolutely love this place. It's our go to for Sunday carvery. Excellent value for money, lovely food, friendly staff, dog friendlyand the Stella on draft is a brilliant pint. What's not to like? ????

Absolulty amazing meal for the family food was outstanding the mixed grill is a must try. All meats cooked to perfection. Best pint of guinness I've had for years.Great pub thanks you.
