Great choice of plants at very good prices. We like this garden centre.
Unfortunately on our last visit we were unhappy with being accosted on our way out. Husband was struggling to manoeuvre the trolley with large bushes to get to the car. Charity lady brow beated my husband trying to convince him to set up a direct debit. He tried numerous times to end the conversation politely which fell on deaf ears. After managing to convince her NO she wasn't so friendly. I was a bit behind my husband because I use oxygen and walk with a frame. Honestly I was struggling with my breathing and she actually tried to stop me to talk about the charity. I couldn't stop. We always put money in charity collection tins etc. These people should wait to be approached, it's polite. That actually spoilt our visit this time, but it won't stop us visiting. It's a great place ?

Great landscaping work!.
Recently moved to the area, we wanted to landscape the garden.. the shop checkout said ?oh, we can do that?..
From the outset we?ve had great engagement with Glenn who could see our vision and put together a plan to achieve it. The guys - Glenn, Andrew and Sam worked for 2 weeks - often in blazing sun - to create hard landscaping (brick paths and pergola) with borders prepared for us to plant.
They were very flexible to the occasional change and left the site clean and tidy at the end of each day. Also erected a greenhouse. Highly recommended!
Ps - we did the planting!

Called today for breakfast, found to be average, but felt we were being eaten alive by flies.

Went for a meal today with friends. Christmas menu. The meal was awful , cold and very hard veg. Service was extremely slow. Staff not helpful had to ask them to clear the table after 30 minutes of sitting with dirty plates.
Would not recommend and certainly would not go again.

Bunch of miserable, sour-faced workers in the restaurant, can?t even fake a smile let alone show a beat of enthusiasm when talking to you. Hire someone who actually wants to work there.

Just by chance a lady we met today recommended your garden centre and the cafe and said it was dog friendly which was just what we needed. What an absolutely beautiful independent garden centre, one of the best I have ever been to and that cafe is such a delight. A designated comfortable area for those of us with dogs who were all well behaved, no mess or fuss. The owners own 11 year old dog Jack greeted us in the main entrance on arrival. What gorgeous food too...and waitress service. Nothing too much trouble. Loved it and the staff were all amazing, so friendly and helpful. We don't live locally but are less than an hour away and will come back. We were so impressed. A joke and a laugh and nothing but kindness offered to us today. A lovely array of gifts, clothes, plants, garden items and all. Well worth a visit

Went for lunch with a friend ,ordered roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce pannini, it came pannini was warm, filling in it cold.Chips absolutely swimming in grease. I sent it back as inedible. Second attempt was just as bad. My friend had luke warm tomato soup. Dogs allowed in restaurant ,owners paying at counter,Dogs jumping up at counter near a selection of covered cakes. Some staff ignorant, tables not wiped, before next set of diner's sitting down. Will not be returning, very poor experience. Also need educating on food intolerance and allergens as my friend is dairy intolerant, waiter taking the order didnt have a clue.

Basils cafe - Nice looking cafe. It was busy so we were expecting something good. Sadly, we were disappointed. My soup was tepid, and I never got my vegan spread for my bread. My friend ordered the daily special and the panini with pork, stuffing and apple sauce, panini warm, filling cold and chips were very greasy sent it back filling warmed up chips still greasy.

A really lovely place to eat or go for coffee and cake. It is a little bit on the pricey side for a garden center but the food is good. Had a Vegetarian lasagne and i have to say it was amazing. Id previously had a panini which comes with fresh salad and coleslaw snd it was also very nice. The cakes look amazing but, for now ive resisted. An overall pleasant place to visit and my new favourite local place to go for lunch.
