It's great to have good food again at our local pub. Went for the Sunday carvery today. Run by a lovely friendly family. There was a choose of 3 roasts, Turkey, Beef and Pork. I had the Turkey wish was well cooked and not at all dry. Lots of vegetables including cauli cheese. Some of the parsnips were a little over done but the roast potatoes were crunchy with a fluffy middle. Plenty of tasty gravy to help yourself to. A choice of 3 home made puddings which I was unable to find room for. Good value at just under £13. For the main course. I will definitely go again. Very relaxed atmosphere, no need to get dressed up, and it's dog friendly.

Stayed there overnight before a family funeral. Had a very enjoyable few pints and a good laugh with staff and customers. Very dog friendly too.

Called in as we?ve just moved to the area and was very disappointed didn?t smell great ordered a pint of Carling and a pint of Carling shandy and was charged for 2 pints and when I questioned it I was told I still had 2 pints so was charged for 2 tried explaining I only had half a pint of lager and half of lemonade(more like 1/4 lager 3/4 lemonade got my cash back and told him to keep them. Just beware of their pricing

It would be unfair to comment on the pub we just called for a drink just one issue we parked on a nice sized car park but the spot we parked was covered in in nails and screws not good could have been a expensive drink.

Myself and a friend met up here expecting to get lunch, when arrived not long after opening time and walked in the place looked very run down and not very clean, we went to the bar and it smelt of stale beer, asked for to order food and told they only do rolls, we ordered a ham salad roll and a cheese roll, went to sit down at a table and had to clean off chairs as they were covered in crumbs, had to ask for table to be cleaned as it was sticky and dirty. Rolls arrived and were awful, no presentation just thrown on, lettuce was brown in parts and had to take it off. I do have to say ladies toilets were clean. Definitely wouldn't go back again.Parking: car park full of pot holes

Did an 8 mile walk and ended up calling In there for a few drinks and a taxi number. Lovely pub, great atmosphere, very friendly. The landlord gave us a lift back the 8 miles to our campsite as he didn't want us getting ripped off by the taxis. Will definitely go back.
