The negatives: we stayed in the Boteler Suite which was quite dated. It was also not particularly clean- massive well formed spiders webbs on the coffee table. In the evening before dinner there was no hot water so we ended up having to have a cold shower. We were given a glass of fizz as an apology for this.
.
At night the room was incredibly hot as there are no windows (and you can't leave the door open as it's ground floor and leads to the car park). No fan or AC in the room.
Positives: the food in the evening was really good and well deserving of the michelin *. Sommelier was excellent and we really enjoyed the wines.
Overall would recommend the restaurant, but would suggest staying somewhere else.

We came for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a simply wonderful time. We?ve done a few taster menus including one with Claude Bosi and this was up with the best. Highlights included the chicken taco and the halibut with kohl rabi and clams - just divine. Mikaela looked after us perfectly.
Fine dining is not cheap, but in terms of value, this was outstanding.
We will be back.

Winteringham Fields is so much more than eating [very] good food. It is a journey, an experience led by passionate chefs and waiting staff. Some may be put off by the price. From a frugal person like myself, eating here is value for money; you will not be disappointed. Worth every penny.

Food and drinks: Great food and fantastic service as you would expect from a Michelin Star restaurant
Amazing variety of courses and well worth the cost for the taster lunchtime menu.
Not sure that £16 for a gin and tonic is justified though ?

We were a group of five people, two of whom were vegetarians. Although we were well received, several aspects of our visit were disappointing.
Firstly, we were seated at a table that was clearly too small for five people, with very uncomfortable table legs, which significantly affected our comfort during the meal. In addition, the service was performed in an unconventional way, with a serve to the left, which disturbed us somewhat.
The main courses were then served, including the two vegetarian dishes. We were extremely surprised and disappointed to find that these dishes consisted mainly of a simple potato with a little seasoning. This offer is unacceptable for a restaurant of your reputation, especially given the high price of the menu offered.
In the end, we paid a sum of £430 for a meal that absolutely did not live up to our expectations, both in terms of quality and quantity. We believe that the price-quality ratio was extremely unfavorable.

We came here for my 34th Birthday and it was sensational. Food , room and service faultless.
The food needs additional comment as it was beyond excellent. All dishes stood out but dessert was an absolute highlight.
Rooms: Rooms large, comfortable and clean.

This is our third time at Winteringham Fields, and the first with the new head chef, James, who has worked his way up over his years there.
Service was outstanding as ever and we both said we think this was the best food we've had there so far, which is difficult to judge as it's always fantastic, but the new head chef has definitely continued on with the excellent quality and added his own touches to bring Winteringham Fields new ideas and gorgeous food.
The wine pairings were spot on, and we enjoyed every one - even the sake, which neither of us usually enjoy.
