Bar staff very pleasant and helpful breakfast staff look at you as if your in the way breakfast very unpleasant with a large helping off fat and grease would be better off going to mcdonald's down the road will not eat there again

had a lovely time in the royal & the barmaid chloe was an amazing barmaid so friendly & pulled me beers with a head on that lasted makes a change to flat beers in other pubs

very old and poorly maintained. The worst part is the bathroom, if you don?t keep the door shut at all times, the entire room fills with a strong sewer smell coming from the drains. It?s disgusting and makes it Impossible to sleep or relax. You literally can?t get rid of the smell unless the bathroom door stays closed. Absolutely not worth staying in.

Popped in for dinner - absolutely lovely. Clean and spacious, friendly welcome and a great menu. Food came in a decent but proper amount of time (if it's within minutes then you know it's been microwaved, not here - genuine cooked food). The pie was delicious served with thick gravy and a choice of taters - even happy to make a substitution on the sides for my Mum. A big thank you to all. New manager Dan is off to a cracking start for sure.

I stayed for 1 night on a business trip, the rooms were adequate and clean but a little outdated.
The breakfast was nice and served fast and hot with a fair amount of choice.
The staff are where this place shines though.The two I saw were Zane and Jenny, they was very polite and friendly which makes a big difference in my opinion. They went above and beyond for me to make sure I had everything I needed.
I would recommend especially considering how close it is to the towns center.
Rooms: could do with being updated, but clean and tidy.
