It was actually laughable how bad our experience here was. The guy who served us clearly did not want to be there! We sat down at our table and he just walked away, didn?t say I?ll be back to take your order, or you need to come through and order..
I ordered the veggie breakfast purely because it said it came with guacamole and halloumi, food arrived with neither of those items on so he said they?ll be down in a moment. 5 minutes went by and still no food, he came back again with a bottle of ketchup, another few minutes went by, then another waiter came through with the halloumi but still no guacamole and said it wouldn?t be much longer. I said just leave it because everything is cold, I?d like a refund. She disappeared to get a manager then strolls back in saying I couldn?t speak to a manager because they were busy.. refunded half of my bill and walked away. No sorry from either of the waiters. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Twice now we have walked past and seen the chuck burgers sign out, then walked in past the brightly lit neon open sign, to then be told that the chuck burgers isn't open and only serving the restaurant menu for the mason arms. Something really needs to be done about the organisation and advertising of this place.
Upon reading the other reviews, it seems like we dodged a bullet..

WORST PUB FOOD EVER.
claimed to have the best burger in louth but upon visual and taste inspection it was worse than my sons school lunches. no brioche bun, no bbq sauce,obviously microwaved burger. may as well have flushed 18 pounds down the toilet. the roast chicken had been rolled around in pepper and salt like the chef?s life depended on it then chucked in the microwave again. gravy was alright.The yorkshire pudding crumbled in a slight breeze. Decent service and atmosphere but food let it down. would?ve given 0 stars if possible.

Rooms: My room wasn't large, but it was plenty big enough for my requirements
Nearby activities: Lots of pubs, cafés and restaurants very close
Safety: The hotel and town felt very friendly and the hotel and room were both very secure
Walkability: The hotel was situated right in the centre of the town. Once the car was parked, I didn't need it until I left.

Excellent and attentive staff who responded well to a minor issue with noise. Good location, though note the car park is 5 minutes walk away.
Rooms: Lovely and spacious.
Food & drinks: Good restaurants within a short walk.

Woken up at about 0420 by the fire alarm. Spent around an hour in the street waiting for the fire brigade to check the building and a staff member to arrive. Very poor night's sleep. Fire alarm showed fire in basement which turned out to be a false alarm.
Food and drinks: Great breakfast.

I visit the Marson Arms most times I come to Louth and it never disappoints. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. With a varied menu with options for gluten/dairy free and vegan too :)

Excellent place! We arrived late (10pm) 27th July, having been badly let down by another accommodation in Louth, and the gentleman took the time to accommodate us in the last room available. The room was absolutely fine with a supremely comfortable bed (the only niggle was that there was not a proper headboard to match) and the shower room was excellent! Breakfast was served in a character-full dining area full of lovely plants and greenery (which could be purchased). The breakfast was very good including plenty of choice and refillable cups of coffee. The waitress could not have been more helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend ! - John & Barbara P

Had a gorgeous lunch there today with my friend and the coffee was so good we had 2!
I had a fish goujon sandwich and my friend had poached egg and halloumi on crushed avacado & chutney on toasted sourdough which she raved about.
Shout out to Liam the barista!

Nice place for lunch on a Monday, a lot of places in Louth are closed on Monday. Really pleasant, helpful staff. Fish goujon sandwich with salad and mushroom with eggs Benedict were all very nice ?. A lovely place.
