2nd time being here First time waited well over an hour for mains. Steak was almost inedible as super tough. Said we would never go back but gave it another chance
Second time. Sat down fine drinks order taken quickly. Sadly waited over half an hour for the food order to be taken. After another half an hour a plate of complimentary bread came out. This is how we knew the mains would be much longer. We were then offered free drinks because of the wait and told the frier was being overused due to onion rings being cooked separately. Unlucky for them the first time we went the year before the same frier excuse was used saying it was broken so only running on one . Just buy another ?
When food finally did arrive we were all over hungry as waited about an hour and a half. Most burgers were dry, chips were good
Only one selection of buns was left as told it was such a busy day due to walk ins.
Decor is very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. But the wait times and food are so long and bad we won't be trying for a third time

We keep going back but not sure why? Convenience on our way home from hospital.
Staff are delightfully friendly and welcoming. The decor is pleasing and everywhere clean and comfortable.
I ordered mussels in a creamy leek n curry sauce with a side salad and a roll. The mussels were overcooked dry and shrivelled. The sauce was lovely and creamy but had red onion not leeks. The bread roll warmed had gone firm and chewy and no butter. The side salad all chopped minutely in a small bowl. Oh why bother. Couldnt scoop it up or stab with a fork so gave up.
No one asked how we enjoyed our meal until collecting plates. After pointing out the problems my meal was deducted from our bill. I think we need to find a new pub.

Absolutely phenomenal food was perfection the customer service was worldly Chloe,Rachel and Alfie Clifton were on point with perfect waiting skills just maybe the best restaurant I?ve been to 5/5 will definitely be coming back

We have just shared family birthdays at Palmers ale house, we all had a lovely stay with such lovely staff & great food(evening meal + breakfast both excellent) , 7 of us stayed with 4 rooms booked, all rooms clean spacious & modern with comfy beds , would throughly recommend a stay there, thank you to all staff.

Rachel and Chloe were so incredibly friendly and helpful. When we arrived a little late for food the kitchen were happy to still serve us. Lovely pub. Lovely smart decor indoors and whilst limited seating, really nice outdoor seating space

Today 13 U3A walkers did a 6.2 miles walk around Long Sutton then 12 of us were lucky enough to have a wonderful meal at Palmers with excellent service ?

Hidden gem! Food and service is absolutely faultless, and without breaking the bank. The place is cosy and clean, with a lovely atmosphere. Will be back without doubt ?

We only stayed for a meal and drinks. We're fairly local so didn't need a room.
Such high quality food and service. Always a top selection of beers on tap.
10/10 every visit.
Looking forward to returning soon.
