Went to the Colonnade cocktail lounge for a drink with friends. We had been before and it was lovely. Checked to see if we had to be seated as I know there had been some changes. No signage to say that was the case. The area near the bar was full but we noticed seating available up the steps, again no signage or anything to inform us it wasn't available to us. Our husbands had gone to order drinks when a member of staff asked us if we were with the wedding party which we weren't . Brusquely told us this was a private area for wedding guests no alternative area was suggested so we left the area. , luckily found a free table in bar as our drinks had arrived or we would have left then. No one else was approached who were there in the upper area & we noted they left after their meals/drinks so they weren't part of wedding party either. Unlikey to visit again or recommend. Do get some signage in place so people are aware. The red rope that then got put up across the area wasn't in place when we came in either. Disappointed as had told our friends how nice it was.

The Hotel is in a great location minutes from the cathedral.
James on reception was most welcoming and helpful and professional, he made it a most enjoyable stay. Beautiful hotel lovely decor and atmosphere. Will definitely return in the future.

I was on my way to a lovely little coffee shop but stopped because it was raining. Ordered a coffee and cake of the day, chocolate and bourbon cake. The assistant took payment and walked off so I had to carry the Americano, milk jug and cake to table in two trips as there wasn?t a tray. I then realised I wasn?t given a fork or napkin and had to ask another member of staff for these. I couldn?t believe I was in a hotel bar as it?s the worst service I?ve had since moving to Lincoln in August. It?s not unusual for me to tell my friends and family back in London how lovely Lincoln is and how friendly and professional staff are everywhere I go. The staff member had brought a cup of coffee to another table so I definitely received different treatment. Oh well I won?t be returning here!

I also went to white hart on the 14 December to my works Christmas party, food was cold or Luke warm, we waited an hour between each course. Not what I expected for the price we paid. Staff were bar staff and waiting on and didn?t seem to be organised at all. Very poor for such a big well known establishment

We are currently staying here. The room is gorgeous. Breakfast is gorgeous. The big problem here is service. Yesterday we walked in and as is the way here tragically had to queue at the bar here to order food and drink. Hardly a luxury experience. The charcuterie platter sadly had just Branson pickle on it. Strangely not a condiment I?ve seen in Europe in a platter. No caperberries here. No cornichon. Hardly any bread, hardly any anything really for the princely sum of £30. It took a bloody age to get to me. And when it did I could have cried. I paid £11 for a martini and I was told. Sorry, there are no olives. Seriously! Go boa jar of olives.

I was part of a group party on Saturday 14th December, having Christmas lunch in a private dining room upstairs. The starter was fine, but the main meal was bland, the vegetables had absolutely no taste and the whole thing was tepid, as was my sweet of choice, Christmas pudding. I have eaten here many times before and have never had reason to complain, but this year's dinner was very disappointing! Do you have a new chef? I do hope that this was a one off!!

Ate in the bar. What a disaster! The place was filthy! Dirty tables, empty glasses everywhere and the menu was so sticky, we couldn't separate the pages! No table numbers, not enough chairs and hardly any staff. Menu was weird, very odd choices and mine food was soggy and bland. Just all round disappointing! The best past was the smart and polite doorman! NB there is a step at the exit/entry which is not marked up, someone disabled nearly fell over!

Their bar is set up so that patrons must line up at the bar, place their order, wait for their drinks to be prepared, pay, and take their drinks to their table. Under these circumstances, we were flabbergasted to hear the bartender confirm with us that it's ok if he added 10% tip to our bill. For pulling down the draught beer handle and holding a glass under it?!

Beautiful historic hotel . Lovely location and very friendly helpful staff . Breakfast was fabulous quality and a great choice however slow service. Sausages local Lincolnshire ones and of great quality ..eggs poached to perfection. Happy for you to have any assortment of items you fancied which is a lovely touch.
Only issue we encountered was we'd twice requested twin room...we didn't get this . However would definitely stay again .

We paid 40 pounds for a meal during a history talk, and it was the smallest meal I've ever seen. Not worth the money at all. Very disappointing

Only giving 2 stars because of the noise from their live jazz night. Gosh it was soooo loud we could not sleep.
Bed comfy, really well redecorated. Great location. Just DONT stay if the live jazz is on, is like staying in a night club, doesn?t match the look and initial atmosphere. Loud and rowdy crowds till late at night.

Disappointed at most moments of the guests journey.
Arrival - No warm welcome. Reception in an office. We waited outside room.
Check in - Had to choose an early or late sitting for breakfast.
Room- clean and nice. Bathroom comfortable.
Bathroom - newly done. Looked impressive, but not very guest friendly. Tiny sink. It held toothbrushes, but all other soap bag essentials we had to leave in the bedroom.
Large window at end of walk in shower had clear glass and no shutters or blind just a net curtain. Outside window was scaffolding on which workmen appeared before 8.00 am on Monday morning. So it was rather disconcerting .
First time we switched on the shower it was very powerful and cleaners had left it pointing at window so all net curtain wet through, flooded window sill and on to Bathroom floor.
It could have been avoided had cleaners left it pointing away from window.
Dinner- We had pre dinner drinks in the bar, when we asked for Olives or nuts, she offered us a bag of crisps. We told her were were eating in the antler restaurant, so why did she not advise to move to their bar where nibbles could be obtained?
Antler restaurant- Met all expectations. Staff polite efficient and guest orientated.Menu and food quality excellent.
Breakfast - waitress lovely, did her best. She first informed us, no poached eggs, which struck several dishes off the menu in an instant.
No fresh fruit as detailed on the menu.
The cooked food was nice.
The top up of the tea, (we weren't given a pot, or a cafetiere, as per menu,) was nicely offered by the pregnant lady but never arrived.
Check Out - efficient. Lady on reception didn't ask had we enjoyed our stay.

Reasonably priced drinks and pleasant, relaxing, quiet atmosphere.
