It was OK. We went with people who wanted a carvery and we are vegans. The food was nice but there were so many problems as the staff seemed to mess up the order. The place wasn't very clean and food on the floor around the carvery. It's not a place I will be going back to.

We previously came here often, and it was very good. The food now is absolutely terrible, mushy, cold vegetables too. The service was frankly appalling, we didn't seem to have a waiter/waitress, we ended up chasing around the restaurant trying to get someone to take our order. Will not be going back any time soon due to how downhill it has gone. Very disappointed. And no, one star is not too harsh. We went on Saturday 30th December at 12.30

It was OK, I definitely wouldn't pay that for Xmas Dinner again, roast potatoes was like rock, they ruined the stuffing for me by adding cranberries. Soup was barely warm, the pudding was really nice though.

Absolutely love to dine here on a regular occasion. Today was no different to normal, Kat our server was delightful and joined in the banter. The food was hot and delicious and the serves were prompt and regularly filling up sides to prevent empty dishes. Hardly any waiting time. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants friendly staff and hearty food.

The tables were too close together, I felt like I couldn?t talk during the meal because I was talking over the the tables next to me. Also, the gap between the tables was so narrow when the people in a table either side came to sit down or got up they had to slide against my table and nearly knocked out drinks over.I understand trying to fit as many tables as possible but I think there should be a limit especially on a day like Christmas Day where I was hoping to relax and enjoy a meal

Typical for time of year. But food was cold under heat lamps. Serving utensils were extremely hot. Tried to explain about reheating food under lamps but didn't seem hit home. Beef was just gristle. Yet pigs in blankets were served separately and was hot. Was given 20% off food we didn't enjoy. Clear haven't learned from previous as others have complained about cold food and poor service.

We were seated and never brought drinks, then we went to the carvery and there was no one staffing it, eventually served and all the food was cold, only the gravy was hot, no pigs in blankets, terrible service and overall

Food was great. But the queue!! We queued for 40 minutes as the servers kept breaking off to prep the takeaways. Also the meat for the takeaways was far more generous then eat in.

So me and the wife decided to have a easy Christmas eve and book to have a meal at Toby Carvery for the family so we wasn't cooking large roast dinners 4 days straight. This is the first time we have been to Tobys so didnt really know what to expect.The booking online was so easy and even sent a text message to say its booked.Once at Toby, the staff were really kind and helpful ( even on a Christmas eve when I know they would have loved to have been home with their loved ones )The food was really nice and we cannot fault it and the chef was really kind when we was asking about the meats and what was on offer.The main thing that shocked us was the overall cost from what we thought we would be paying to what we actually paid. We decided to go for 2x adult 2 courses @ £11.99 each and 3x children's 2 courses @ £7.99 each and soft drinks for us all.We went up to the carvery and the only question we was asked was " would you like a child plate for our little boy, which I said yes as he is only small and doesn't really eat much. I decided to "upgrade" to a larger oval plate as well as I saw it was only £1.99 extra.Once we finished our mains we ordered our desert and decided to pay the bill. The nice lady that helped handed me a bill for £102. I loosely questioned the price as didn't want to be too difficult. She explained to me that because the person cutting the meat only gave us 1 type of plate then we had to pay 5x carvery and 5x deserts even though when we ordered we wanted the 2 course option for 2 adults and 3 childrenSo instead of paying £47.95 for the food side and maybe £15 in drinks, we had to pay £102. Now it's lucky we was able to cover the price but some people are not in that situation and what would they do if they couldn't cover the extra?Me and my wife have both worked in hospitality and know staff are worked hard over the festive period and so I really didn't want to cause a scene.

Booked and paid £10 deposit for Boxing Day meal at 5:50pm. We received a phone to ask if we could go earlier but I explained that we were going to a football match and we would try to get there early. We arrived approximately 5:30. I had a starter my husband didn?t. We had the carvery and I was so very disappointed as it was cold and dried up. I could not eat my dinner at all. The carrots were dried up the sprouts were like bullets and the stuffing you could hardly get it out of the dish. Whilst we were eating the staff were putting the chairs on the tables as they were hoping to close early. We felt very embarrassed and awkward. They don?t close till 9 pm and it was only 6 pm. The staff were very apologetic but that didn?t alter the fact that I had been looking forward to my hot roast dinner all afternoon and it turned out to be a disaster

Background music to loud. Dirty plates put out to use. Some food out to long was hard or over done. The cost of the breakfast was good, and you can have as many tea or coffees as you like. The venue was clean and tidy. Just needs a few little changes I would give it five stars. Would I recommend maybe. I will make another visit in the future.

Me and my boyfriend went for lunch today and the service was lovely. The lady carving the meat was friendly and kind, and our server, Leona, was working one of her first shifts she told us but you couldn?t tell. Lovely staff, food and drinks. Thank you everybody, especially as not everybody can be so kind and understanding to you during these festive months

All the carvery was great except for the lamb we were disappointed as we were looking forward to it. It seemed very ?stringy?. I was especially grateful to your member of staff who helped to carry our plates (we are both in our late eighties so it would have been difficult for me. ) I don?t know his name but he is a good advert for Toby?s hospitality. If the lamb had been ok I would definitely give a 10Parking: Able to park near restaurant but plenty in nearby carpark

Oliver was outstanding. The best meal yet and the best customer service. The food was tasty and delicious and Oliver, our server, was impeccable. We were asked if our meals were ok and taken care of. He even gave me a pot so I could take my ice cream home!

I don?t usually leave reviews however the past few times we?ve been the service is shocking. The staff are never rude but they seem to just ignore you? Everytime we walk in a member of staff sees us yet walks away when we?re waiting to be seated. When we come to pay at the bar, again they make eye contact with us then walk away? The only time service is required here is seating and paying, however I feel as if I?m having to chase the staff down, despite the fact the staff see us waiting (plus it?s never been at a particularly ?busy? time). Food is alright, never seen/been when the food is 1)hot 2)freshly put out - always seems to be the dregs at the bottom of the pots
