Great little place and I think it?s a hidden gem. An old church converted and each room is very different. Tucked away in the Cathedral Quarter and seconds away from the castle. Lovely clean rooms and so well appointed. No restaurant but being so close to all the restaurants and bars it wasn?t a problem for us. The added bonus of having freshly baked croissants left on the door in the morning was a nice touch. Fresh milk and juice in the little fridge just made it a very nice place to stay. Secure car park and very friendly staff, it made our trip. Would definitely recommend this quirky and amazing place.

We have stayed here several times previously, and this is always our first choice of somewhere to stay in Lincoln. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The prices are competitive. Everywhere is very clean. Our car is secure as it?s parked behind locked gates. We choose their hot croissant and yoghurt breakfast option, which smells delicious wafting around. With an hour or so to spare on this visit, we sat in the summer sunshine reading a book in their garden. We?ll definitely be staying there again!

We stayed in the Green Room and what a lovely room it was, the vast impressive window that greets you when you enter kept us enthralled the whole time we were there. Breakfast was a freshly baked croissant and yoghurt delivered to your door for a time of your choosing and it was good!!! The amenities were excellent, kettle and a coffee machine as well as a selection of teas and biscuits. There was ample milk as well as orange juice and bottles of water. Friendly helpful staff are there during the day but available by phone at night. The parking is a secure enclosed area. It?s worth noting you can only access the parking after 12pm on the day of arrival. Easy access and in easy reach of the main attractions such as the castle and cathedral. Also lots of lovely independent shops very close by. Thank you for a lovely stay! Regards C&E

Wonderful Hotel, a hidden gem. July 2023 saw us staying as a group of four in the Grand Suite and the Master Green Room. All of us were wowed by the rooms and the whole relaxed feeling that you get when you walk in. Nothing more to add other than to say, book it, you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for one night as a last-minute booking and wished that it could have been for longer. Near the cathedral, just off Steep Hill, with free, secure, gated parking, this is a small gem of a place. Friendly reception, lovely (standard) room, quiet yet in the centre of the old city, this had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Particularly enjoyed the breakfast delivered to the room.

Beautiful hotel tucked away in the heart of Lincoln with free private, gated parking for guests. Located half way up steep hill it is close to restaurants, pubs, cocktail bars, high street shops, boutiques, the cathedral and the castle. Stayed in room 24, a beautiful suite with oodles of character. Perfect for a special occasion. The suite is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need including a fridge and coffee machine. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast of croissants and yogurt delivered to your room at your requested time. Your room fridge is stocked with milk, water and fresh orange juice. You can also choose to have a traditional breakfast if preferred at a local tea room, for an additional cost. It is our third stay at this gorgeous Lodge, we will definitely stay here again. Can't recommend The Old Palace Lodge enough. The staff are lovely and helpful. A great place to stay.

My partner and I stayed here and we have been talking constantly about staying again, in the master room. What a beautiful room!! We are staying again, because the room is just amazing. We can't wait. It is very private with an amazing bath and it's just a stunning bedroom. We can't wait.

Bought as a suprise for my birthday by my wonderful partner. Have just had a medical operation this was exactly what was needed. The location is amazing, allowing you to experience the winding streets and charm of the city as you make your way to the location. You are left in no doubt that this isnt a normal hotel! The room(suite) was spotless, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the staff sprinkled the bed with rose petals and left me a birthday card. Its such a small thing but it gave the experience a really personal approach. A special city and amazing location. We have already decided we are going to return at some point. Thank you!

We found this place purely by accident on a booking site, and we were so glad we did! For the sake of starting somewhere, I?ll start with the location: it is placed about as high up Steep Hill as you can get without being outside the cathedral. Don?t let how central it is put you off - I have never known a city centre be so quiet at night, and it?s very easy to get to by car. There?s also something about being in the shadow of the cathedral and being woken up by church bells that?s just lovely. The location could not be better! Staff were highly accommodating, very helpful and friendly. We were nearly two hours early for check-in, and had buzzed at the gate purely for somewhere to leave the car while we waited and wandered; however, the receptionist got us checked in and sorted in the room right there at no additional charge! Parking is plentiful, but we found it a little awkward getting the car out again after others had parked around us. Even when we checked out, the staff recommended a nearby car park that we could move the car to, given that they were understandably tight in space, had we left it there. All the access points, front door and gates are locked up and the staff give you backup options to ensure you?re not locked out after hours if you forget any codes. The place itself was gorgeous; the building was the perfect kind of old; the bed was lovely and soft, the bathroom clean and the whole place nicely decorated. Considering there is no kitchen on the building, we found the options for breakfast to be a novel way around the problem, though be advised that there are no dinner options (there?s plenty in the city to keep you fed and watered). One particular thing that I adored was the honour-based tuck shop behind reception - again, novel, and a great way to ensure your guests are comfortable during their stay. All in all we were very happy with the value for money, the friendliness of the staff, the location, access, and the place itself. It will definitely be our first choice the next time we visit Lincoln!

I cannot fault the hotel, it was perfect. The views were amazing. We were met in the car park and checked in and shown to our room. It had everything you could need including a mini fridge which had carafes of fresh water, milk and orange juice. We received a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning which was left outside of the room at the time requested. The bed was so comfy and we couldn?t have asked for anything more. The hotel was situated half way up Steep Hill so if you struggle with walking this could be a problem. It was an absolute perfect stay.

I didn?t make it to stay here as got accused of ?refusing? to pay when I offered (by email) to post a cheque, do a bank transfer and provide payment card details?all well before arrival. I can?t change the legalities of my job meaning I can?t make or take phone calls- in the hours reception is open. I?ve booked with another hotel now and am glad they will benefit from my generosity and hopefully lovely review. Rude tone in email (cancelling ?with pleasure?) and poor customer service before you set foot in the door.
