I give 2 stars, purely as some items in the shop was lovely, but a experience with promises made form the owner left us disappointed and disheartened.Initially visiting this shop, we thought what a beautiful, quaint place. What a disaster it turned out and ruined christmas day. The lady behind the desk, I discovered was called Jackie (the owner) was initially very helpful, esp when a item we wanted for a christmas gift was damaged. She took my address and I paid for the item, with a promise a new one would be with me before Christmas. I did ask are you sure this was OK, since we only have 3 weeks. She guaranteed me this was fine and I found her extremely helpful. Unfortunately this is when all went wrong. After 2 weeks I contacted Jackie (the owner) in a bit of a worry. I hadn't received the item yet and had only a week until Christmas eve and the item was my step fathers christmas gift. She told me, it was arriving that day and she would post it that eveing. I thought great, we will have it by christmas. By Wed the following week still nothing. I called to no answer. That day I called twice more. I felt that my calls were been screened. So I asked my partner to call from their number. Strangly he got a answer straight away. When explaining who he was, Jackie told him, she had posted it Monday second class. But with no tracking information. Also he explained the final date for 2nd class postage had ended on the Friday prior (the one I was told it would be sent, and clearly it wasnt) leaving only first class by the Monday. She claimed the post office promised her it would arrive. But it did not, leaving my step father with no gift at christmas. Despite the huge disappointment I waited a further week and still no arrival of the parcel. I called again, to once again no answer, I was been ignored. Eventually my partner got through from a works phone. Jackie said she was sorry, would return my money but send another item with tracking information this time as an apology. Still almost 3 weeks later, no item. Despite the refund. I feel disappointed, lied to, and now have to find a belated gift (giving now doesn't have the same appeal). We are both utterly disappointed in the owner of this shop, she clearly cannot run a honest business, with promises of high standards, not delivered.
