Young staff member, tall, blonde, looks relatively new. Told me and my partner to"shut up" because I asked if he could assist getting a display bike off the shelf for my son to try for size but apparently it was the end of his shift so his level of customer service doesn't matter anymore. am absolutely appalled by the way we were treated by him and will definitely be shopping elsewhere!

DON'T USE THIS STORE!Appalling customer service in store, by phone or email. Spineless, sackless Store manager won't even show his face to deal with customers, just hides in his office communicating through the headsets to colleagues who are just as useless. Will quickly take money from you but won't take responsibility for technical/employee errors leaving customers without the item they paid for or the money they paid with.

This is the second year I have purchased things for my niece. First year car wouldn't fit together and joints were incorrect... this year a pepper pig product that we've just opened and all the stickers are ripped and scratched ... disgusting. Won't ever buy from here again.

Erin was spot on at sorting out a pram we wanted. Even built it together. Erin couldn't of been more helpful and friendly. She needs a raise, not many staff are like that nowadays! Also. The playlist that was on that day. Made the shopping experience 100% better.

I purchased a child's bike yesterday, I paid the £10.00 fee to have it assembled, this also comes with a service, I mentioned it was my daughters birthday the following day.At the first opportunity this morning Alastair called me to advise the bike was already available for collection especially as it was her birthday.When i arrived to collect he efficiently explained what he had done and I can only report the service was excellent and most efficient and that my daughter is delighted with her present.Many thanks to Alistair for the fantastic service.I'd highly recommend.

Showed us the controller we wanted and walked off and then we waited for ages to buy a controller but the staff were too busy talking to each other great but after the staff was great and helpful so have mixed reviews

We have just brought my nephew to the shop to spend his birthday money at 17:53 where we were told that the shop was closing in 5 minutes. It states on the website that it closes at 8 pm. This was updated 3 weeks ago so it's not as if it's been on there a long time and they have forgot to change it. Now we have to explain to a 6 year old that he can't get anything today even though he has been waiting all week to go.

Ordered click and collect my sister went to collect gave her the bar code and email but she had no i.d which isn't a problem as my own fault for not realising however the woman was snotty. Rang the Lincoln store because I didn't realise you needed photo I.d ( the woman was a jobsworth who kept talking over me) asked if I could produce my bank card no it has to be photo i.d ......how ridiculous I didn't need i.d to pay with that same card I don't have photo I d. Desperately needed for Christmas as explained still no nothing but photo I.d. No way to cancel it after ringing customer care this man was lovely said I could take an prove of address in absolutely no point as the woman was adamant I couldn't without photo I.d yet was told differently by customer services. I Won't be ordering with Smyths ever again it's absolutely ridiculous I can order with my bank card but can't pick it up with that same bank card with my email and bar code. My mind is blown makes absolutely no sense. The woman at the store would be better than suited to the council than a kids shop at Christmas or better still a job not with the public about as much help as a chocolate fire guard.

Faulty xbox controllerI visited the store to take back a faulty controller for my sons new xbox.At the counter i was greeted by a lady called sharon. I told her it keeps turning off and not working as it should.instantly the defensive started from her and then began an interigation.She shouted over a young school leaver looking boy called lucasAnd he inspected it. After his conclusion of it not being a fault i was rudely told to be on my way.My son and me are not gamers and have never owned an xbox controller before but i knew this wasn't right. So i asked for the manager.Lucas walked away muttering a profanity.An arrogant chap called lee came over and continued the interigation.He sent sharon round the back to test the controller on a game and sharon couldn't see a fault which obviously had to mean i was lying or thats how i was made to feel.I told him i bought them on a 2 for 40 deal im not trying to gain anymore than a replacement controller.After a little more incompetent investigation by lee he said they have never had this offer on the controller and getting sharon to confirm this.I managed to give lee on my second attempt the exact day and time when i bought this and he went quiet when he saw i did buy them on an offer.Of course there was no apology.Luckily a more diplomatic manager called lindi came over and apologised called sorted the issue.Ive also since spoken to lindi on the phone and she offered correct polite customer service to me and couldn't apologise enough .In summary i do understand that there maybe dishonest people who may try to gain from a shop but that is no reason to believe that everyone is the same. I can honestly say im disgusted by the way i was treated by 3 members of staff at this store.Being an employer myself i would never condone nor accept this behaviour from my staff.I would estimate i spend 2k per year on average at this store and it is safe to say i shall not be going back.

Had very mixed experiences here. But, the worst and most disappointing was when I bought a large and expensive remote control toy dinosaur robot for my son as a gift. It didn't work as the robot didn't respond when buttons were pressed on the remote. Both the remote and the dinosaur lit up when turned on, but the dinosaur didn't move or do anything when it was supposed to. Even with a receipt, and within the allowed time according to their returns policy, the very rude store manager refused to replace or refund it, meaning I had a very upset little boy and a useless piece of plastic. Wouldn't spend money like that here again.

I contacted Smyths to enquire about availability on playing sand.Lucas efficiently answered my call .He then kindly offered to help load my car up for me.I/family members have bought a range of toys and garden equipment, from trampolines to slides and a swing,all of which have been good quality and value for money in comparison to other retailers.Highly recommend.

We just visited their free school holiday event.lots of fun for my son and an opportunity to get something back for free after spending alot of time and money there. My son loves going to Smyths and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Had a very bad experience with a very rude and unhelpful manager named Lee today. Was mislead when phoning regarding an item i had purchased 2 months ago. Will not return to this store solely due to his unpleasant, aggressive and abusive manner. Lacking any customer service skills whatsoever. Definitely agree with other reviews - made to feel like a criminal when returning a faulty product. I would advise to purchase elsewhere like the entertainer, Argos, amazon. This is the first time I've had a store not accept a return when the toy is clearly faulty and try to blame my daughter instead but this store is clearly notorious for not honouring returns from reading other reviews.

The manager of this store is appalling. Very rude and unhelpful. How he is still employed is beyond me. I would even say that he is bringing Smyth's into disrepute with his bad attitude and lack of willingness to help customers.
