Firstly, the service was utterly dismal. We waited to be served for an eternity, because no one ever came. They saw us but neglected to be of any assistance. We took the liberty of seating ourselves and had to procure our own menus. That?s not the first time I have been treated badly at the pizza express. I don?t recommend it to anybody.

Valentine?s Day- we went for valentines evening, have to say the food and service was the best. We did wait quite a while for food which is expected on this busy occasion but this was communicated with us and apologies were given. 2 lovely staff members in particular went above and beyond to make our experience the best. Freya and Andre (I think her name was). Would visit here again, especially for valentines ?

Walked in on a sunday evening (around 8pm) had a sunday shift so wanted to have a little date with my fiancé. There were plenty of empty tables but we didn?t want to be rude so didn?t sit and tried yo find a staff to lead us. Found a guy he first ignored us. I spoke first asked if we can sit or needed a reservation? Because literally nobody cared about two adults who is standing around and looking confused. He said ?oh yes you need a reservation we don?t accept walk-ins?. His attitude was quite rude and frustrating. This place is the closest pizza restaurant to my house (exactly 1-2 minutes away) but will never either order or step in that place again. You must care about your customers, what is it like i didn?t reserve a table so you don?t have enough pizza dough or tomato sauce for two people? Lol miserable regulations you have. The waiter, unfortunately was ruining the atmosphere of my day. No star for food because couldn?t even try it??? Great service if you want someone to ruin your mood lol

Visited the restaurant today, was my first visit and was welcomed by Ellie on entrance. She was very polite and accommodating and showed us to our table. Allowed us time to browse the menu and checked back when we were ready. The food was delicious and very well presented and I would definitely visit again! Thank you to Ellie and the staff working behind the scenes for making my first visit memorable!
Dietary restrictions: We were asked about any dietary restrictions on entrance and saw options for dirty food options
Wheelchair accessibility: They have an area for seating downstairs that require no steps to access, and a wheelchair call bell outside the door.

A little wait to be seated, looked like there had been a big party in just before.
Starters not a bad selection and tasty. Mains just above average but what you?d expect from Pizza Express. Desserts a little pricy and small for what you get.
Service great, and good meaningful interactions
Vegetarian options: Good selection as you?d expect with any restaurant serving pizzas and Italian food.
Parking: Free parking just up the hill after 6. If not you?re paying NCP prices - think ahead and get the NCP app to make your parking cheaper, if not your paying £5-6 for 2 hours.
Wheelchair accessibility: Only a small part of low level seating at the bottom entry point (unsure if there?s alternative access available).

Warm welcome. Friendly efficient service by Abbie. Food and drinks arrived promptly at the correct temperature. The quality of the meal was excellent and as Pizza Express Club member was excellent value.

Unfortunately this may just be the worst pizza express I have ever been to.
The front of house staff were very nice and very attentive however, unfortunately the food was just shocking. The starters were fine nothing wrong there but pizzas were awful, in retrospect slightly undercooked, no flavour, barely any toppings and we have gone back home with belly aches which was not what we were hoping for. Very disappointing especially given the central location but safe to say we won?t be coming back.
It was also very hot and tables were in most random places with staff constantly standing around and preparing drinks etc next to us.

Was hoping for a lovely dinner date at Pizza Express this evening but was left very disappointed.
We had starters which were small but no problems with them. We ordered the Spicy Pollo & Chorizo pasta, which came out burnt, without chorizo and completely tasteless, just a plain tomato sauce with no flavour whatsoever. Very disappointing, we said something to the server who was lovely and very apologetic, no problems with him at all.
However left dissatisfied after management took off £7 on a £65 meal. We barely had any of the pasta as it was so bad. Left hungry and will not be returning. Would not recommend at all.

Food qaulity good
Shocking service ignored by various staff they turned away multiple customers despite many empty tables.
After 40min waiting for desert the aparent manager asked if we wanted any desserts. I wont be returning again very disappointed would not recommend despite the food quality when arrived.
Staffing seems to be revolving around hiring a woke they them criteria over a competent and keen staff

TLDR - DO NOT ORDER THE DUO ROMANO IF YOU INTEND TO USE THE 50% OFF OFFER!!! IT IS INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING!!
Let me preface that the food was fine, the atmosphere is alright and we had a good time right until it came to pay the bill, but the reason for the 1 star review is because of the scam that is the "50% off Pizza" offer.
Me and my girlfriend went here for dinner and saw there was an offer for 50% off pizzas if you were a member on their app, that was noted on a sign outside as we walked in. We set up an account for the app and each ordered a Duo Romano pizza. After we had finished eating we had to wait for around 25 minutes for our server to give us the bill, even though there were no other customers in the restaurant at this time. He directed us to the bill on the app, only for us to discover that the 50% off any pizza offer excluded Duo Romano pizzas (the app stated that items in the bill were invalid for the offer, at which point the server explained that Duo Romana may be excluded from the offer, then checked and confirmed this). I checked the app and the other offers (e.g. Christmas set menus, see photos below) stated that T&Cs apply at the bottom of the tile, however the 50% off pizzas offer only stated that it was valid Mon-Sun, so naturally we had assumed that it was valid for any pizza- there was no other indications that terms and conditions would apply for this offer, and we double-checked the sign outside when we left and this also only stated the offer of 50% off any pizza, and at the bottom it stated "members only. 33% off for non-members. Any classic, Romana, Leggera, or Calzone pizza", and additionally as stated the server was also unclear on any exceptions to the offer, so we had seen no mention of Duo Romana pizzas being excluded at any point. This made no sense to us as it was comprised of two halves of other pizzas which were also available under this offer- there were no extra/more expensive toppings, it wasn't bigger than the other pizzas available under this offer, and the dish took no longer to prepare. This was very frustrating for us as if we had known this, we wouldn't have ordered the Duo Romano pizza. We had anticipated spending £22.80 for this meal and ended up with a £41.75 bill, which is a disgrace.
The app, as well as the advertising surrounding the 50% off pizza offer, is purposefully misleading in what pizzas are and are not included in the offer, and I am leaving this review as a warning to anyone wishing to use this deal to not make the same mistake as us! I'm aware that this is likely an issue faced by Pizza Express locations nationwide, however I feel that encouraging staff to inform us of this when we were ordering, or having something on the table that explained the offer would be an easy solution and allow everyone to avoid this issue.
