I have been a regular customer at both the old Dunelm store and the one that is now on the Carlton Centre. I have bought just about everything for this house in the past 23 years from Dunelm. I have recommended them far and wide to friends and relatives. Not any more!!!Last week I bought what I thought was a single fitted sheet, I unfortunately didn't have my reading specs with me but I did think it was a bit expensive at £25! Got it home and took it out of the wrapper, only to find that it was a valance. With my specs on I could now make out the small print saying 'valance'.I tried my best to refold the valance NB I didn't even put it on the bed, so for a few minutes it was out of the wrapper. Hardly a hygiene issue!!Today, I took it back to Dunelm store with my till receipt. The cashier had to call her manager who totally refused to accept my return of this item. Something I cannot/need to use. I did say that I am a pensioner and can hardly afford to waste £25, especially at this present time of cost of living crisis!I made my intentions clear from this awful disregard for compassion to the customer and stated that I will cease being a customer so in the end, it is their loss. I will go elsewhere for my household furnishings and equipment. Dreadful service.

Very poor disabled parking - lack of drop down kerbs to pavements meaning that if you are a wheelchair user you have to travel along a road that is very busy with cars.

Lots of home wares to look at. Managed to buy bed sheets in the sale good price.There is plenty of choice in home decor,colours and patterns .Large area and a coffee shop upstairs .The staff are pleasant and helpful.

Made to feel a bit of a fool?Bought a little kitchen top compost bin about 6 weeks ago. The lid began to warp so it didn?t seal. Thought I?d stop back in as my wife and I (used to) love Dunelm and spend quite a bit of money in there on a regular basis. I went in to see if they could replace the lid, was informed by colleague 1 that it was a season item so discontinued, sent down to the till to see colleague 2, who then told me that this item (which I purchased around 6 weeks ago) was stopped back in 2019, and they hadn?t sold it since. Colleague 2 looked at me like I had stole it from someone?s grandma and was trying to make a quick buck! He then radio?d the manager who replied with no receipt no refund. I only wanted a replacement lid lol. The item cost £6 initially.So with that, due to your customer service and lack of understanding, you?ve lost a couple of loyal shoppers who will happily be walking past your doors to B&M and JYSK in the future..

Went to look at home decorations for my room, however they wouldn?t let me in their shop, they assumed I was a child and said I needed an adult to go in there. I am a responsible teenager who wouldn?t be in Lincoln without a parent if I was irresponsible. The worker was rude and stereotyped me and my friends, she didn?t even bother asking our ages .I didn?t realise I had to be 18 to go and look at fluffy cushions, will be going to the range from now on !

Bought a mattress topper super king it was 200.00 it was terrible. Said on the box keeps you cool it didn't. It made you hot. Said the smell would go it didn't. They won't give your money. Wasted 200.00 .

Not the best furniture shop. Quite an array of tacky and cheaply produced items. It's a massive shame there's no IKEA nearby, though I doubt it would get much custom.
