I moved to Waddington three years ago and felt genuinely lucky to have a Budgens right on my doorstep. The staff are fantastic?friendly, helpful, and totally in tune with the community. One time, a member of staff actually ran across the road to give me something I?d left behind at the till !
There was a time when barcodes and prices didn?t match up?receipts had to be double-checked?but fair play, that?s all been sorted now. The store is spotless, and if there's ever a queue at the till, extra staff appear almost instantly. Much appreciated.
And a special mention for the ?use by? selection?honestly, one of the best parts of the shop. It?s well-stocked, clearly labelled, and a proper win for both value and cutting down on food waste. Whoever?s managing that section deserves a pat on the back.
Now, just a couple of gripes: veg prices can be steep (stir fry packs especially?almost triple compared to elsewhere), and one big mystery... why don?t you sell chicken thighs? Loved the 'chicken guys' marinated chicken. I guess that's sale and ruturn, like that overpriced' dine at home' garbage in your chest freezers , although i guess its all trial and error.
Still, Budgens Waddington is a real asset to the village. Friendly faces, a clean shop, and one of the best ?use by? sections around. Maybe you could sort your booze bottle selection? Cant choose 3 from all available? Can't choose ciders and lager conbined, like in Tesco for example.
Overall. A village asset. Brilliant management. Well done.

For a village shop prices are higher than I'd expect,But was really surprised to find a Date and walnut cake, havent had one of those for over 7 years since my Aunty Lil made me one, and it's so so close to how she made it,Will be going back just for the cake.

they just accused my daughter of stealing something from them. she would never ever steal anything and is very upset. so would not recommend anyone going in there.

Handy store, most prices are reasonable but milk taste like chemicals and the fruit does keep for more than a day

I always have to ask for receipts as like today on checking .the price shown was not the price on receipt. When I returned to query the price on shelf was removed as I was told this was wrong .last week the pastry had was priced up in pencil .the price on the pastry was printed was 50p lower I got the 50p with a sorry Next day the pastry was priced at 59p extra .so check your receipt

Variety of foods, new store is looking good just unfortunately I couldn't get parked in the carpark (even though more parking) had to park half way down the street, the shop was empty when I went in. I let an employee know that there was no parking even though the shop was empty and he just laughed. Looks like coop or Tesco's in the next village will be getting more custom as there is always ample parking.

Been into store today, first time after the revamp, looks good however! We wanted something nice for afters for our tea , bought a Viennetta it had been defrosted and refrozen, See image, it was disgusting and it saw the bin.It?s not been the first time we have bought ice cream or lolly?s like that from here. Either they are letting frozen products sit in a warm area before going in the freezers or the freezers are not set correctly. Oh! The Crunchie ice creams were soft too. PLEAE BE AWARE.
