Our evening meal on Friday 29th Dec 2023 was fantastic...I had the rib eye steak, medium rare cooked to absolute perfection and our table was served by the lovely Susie who was so friendly, polite and professional, nothing was too much trouble and given the fact that my wife is insulin dependent, Susie was extremely patient while we worked out her meal. 5 out of 5 on all counts and she is a credit to the restaurant ?Dietary restrictions: Although diabetes is not usually calculated by carbohydrates contained in restaurants, the staff were very patient and understanding of the fact we needed to do the calculationsParking: No trouble parking at allKid-friendliness: We had 2 children with us and it was perfect

First time eating at Beefeater. Chose it for Christmas dinner as the menu sounded nice after looking at all options in the area. We made a mistake in choosing them and it was a subpar meal for an extortionate amount of money. £60 a head sounded reasonable, we weren't looking for gourmet and high end, just something tasty that we didn't have to cook. We arrived and had to wait for about ten minutes, no biggie, were promptly seated and asked what drinks we wanted. The table was set up nicely with two Christmas crackers, which included a token wooden ornament inside. The server, a very lovely, bubbly chap arrived to ask how I wanted my steak and informed us that he'd put in our order and grab our drinks. I ordered the cheese fondue for a starter, sirloin steak for main, and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. My partner ordered chicken pate, salmon, and profiteroles. It went downhill from there. The starters arrived and I had a nice big bowl of cheese fondue with ONE wispy piece of bread. Well, you don't want to waste all that cheese, so asked the other grumpy server if we could get more bread. He brought out a bowl with ONE more wispy piece of bread, which was halved to share with my partner to assist with eating the pate as she also had received just ONE piece of wispy bread. Wow, stingy, much? Absolute waste of cheese. Next up, mains. To be fair, my steak was tasty and the best steak I've ate at a restaurant in the UK so far, which is saying something since I've been to Miller and Carter. However, after removing the fat (I know some like it, I don't), my steak became quite small. I would guess I was left with about 4oz in the end. The roast potatoes was good. The puff pastry with field mushroom and spinach was okay, but why? A bit more steak, more roasties, and some cauliflower cheese or just some broccoli would have been nice, maybe with a Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was okay. For my partner, she said the salmon was nicely cooked, possibly a bit overcooked on the skin side, but could not understand why it was served skin down. It was served with broccolini and garlic herb potatoes, which were okay. She said the tomato sauce was delicious though. Now, the dessert was a disaster. Partner said the profiteroles were okay, nothing special. My apple pie came with custard when I had ordered it with ice cream, so had to return. Not a big deal, it happens. Oh, the slop they returned with, oh my. It looked like the dredges scavenged from the pie tin. I don't care about pretty, so not a huge issue. The taste was a whole different story. Yuck! It tasted like the pastry was undercooked. After further investigation, you could see and feel the pastry was undercooked. Obviously, the apple pie wasn't cooked properly and they thought the microwave would fix it later? The clotted cream ice cream was okay, which is the only thing I ate. We were wholeheartedly disappointed with our meal. We had planned to have another drink, a longer chat, and enjoy our coffee and mince pie that comes with the meal. We didn't wait for the coffee and mince pie. We didn't even wait for the server to ask if we wanted our check. We went straight to the server cash out point. Grumpy server never asked why we weren't staying for the coffee and mince pie. Unfortunately, the bubbly server had left earlier as he stopped by to let us know he was leaving. On the way out, another customer stopped and asked us what we thought and we told her we definitely weren't going to go again next year. She agreed and could not believe that we were served such poor food for the price. She was absolutely flabbergasted and we concur with her opinion. Unbelievable. I think next year we'll stay home and grill a steak.

What a shame that at around 65 ish pound per head that food was terrible. Christmas Dinner is usually a bit more but you get good value for money. I have Canadian scallops with king prawns and the stench of rotten fish was horrific. Prawns were rock hard but scallops nice and soft cooked nicely. Partner had prawn cocktail and prawns were still frozen. Main was turkey for myself and beef for my partner. My turkey was cooked OK but the beef looked awful. My partner skipped her meat and I ended up giving her some turkey. No mash at all which was baffling and other tables around us were also saying how there was no mash. Parsnips cooked well, roast potatoes also cooked well but then it went downhill. Carrots were rock hard and ee got a spoonful of shriveled garden peas. Not a great deal of gravy but personally for me was enough. Deserts I had the mint chocolate sundae which was extremely sickly but nice. Partner had millionaire profiteroles which were stone cold served with some sort of biscuit base! Service was shockingly slow. Starters came after about 20 mins of seating then we had about a half hour wait for mains then around an hour for desert to the point the lovely very helpful waitresss offered up some mince pies to gift as an apology that the kitchen was clearly swamped. We had only just finished desert and were told we would have to vacate the table as another couple were booked for our table and had waited over 40 minutes to be seated and left in the bar area. We agreed to move into the bar areas and the place was rammed with families wanting to be checked in let alone seated. Overall I'd give it a 2/10. Won't be back again. Overpriced for what you get.

Wouldn?t return. Overpriced. All bland. Chefs need some advice on how to cook sprouts as they were squeaky. Not enough toast with the cheese fondue. Service a bit slow. Just a bad place to go in

We visited this restaurant two weeks ago, when there was freezing fog outside and they hadn't put the heating on. We were sat at a table directly under a cold fan. We did ask to be re-seated and we were. The staff were lively and the food was great, but it was so cold inside, it kinda spoiled it.

Turned up with 20 minutes to go for the all you can eat breakfast. The food was ok considering my lateness. It was the staff that made it for me. Very friendly and helpful. Even brought me a nice cup of coffee at the cut off time for breakfast. Big thank you to Amber ,Sian and Geoff.

My experience at this restaurant during the wake was horrendous. The food barely reached mediocrity, with uninvited guests wandering in through the back door and indulging in the spread. The negligence in topping up tea and coffee only added to the disappointment. The room lacked any semblance of privacy, seamlessly blending into the noisy pub environment. The staff's rudeness was a low point, as no one bothered to welcome or guide us. It was an overall dismal affair, tarnishing the solemn occasion.

Despite booking, my family and I were kept waiting both at the start of the meal and between courses. We had young children with us, so booked early and left late. Main course was luke warm at best. The sweet was poor, the cream in the profiteroles was off and just finished off a poor meal. Will beca long time before we revisit, if ever.

For less than a tenner for an all u can eat breakfast for and adult and 2 children, you know that it'll be nothing special ... and it wasn't. Mid-morning, busy but not full yet the hot food kept running out, likewise plates; the serveries aren't kept clean too. But it met our needs for the price.

Very Watery scrambled eggs ? didnt see anyone eating it, no hash browns and nothing to replace them ie chips or something.. didn't clear our table so kids was knocking stuff all over even though we had stacked them up ready to be taken. Food quality was poor the overall experience wasn't good would not return.

Very slow service. When meal eventually came the staff didn't ask if we needed sauces or.more.drinksWhen I approached the supervisor she said we asked if it.was ok that means do you want anything else. We then had to complain about undercooked £25 steaks after a 1 hour+ wait on a week night. Eventually replacements came with no.apology or offer to put compensate. Disappointing for the price overall tbh.

We were stayed at Premier and Mill Lodge is the restaurant for meals. First up dinner, good staff that are attentive and friendly but that?s it, food was mediocre. I had the beef and ale pie with I think was potato mash, it was disappointing to put it mildly. Breakfast was far better so lifted the rating by 2 stars. The prices for dinner would be worth it if the meal was nice, but a lukewarm warm pie that we suspected might have come straight from the microwave doesn?t cut it. Then the Nachos my wife had as she only wanted a small meal, not much can be said about these and if I did it wouldn?t be positive. As mentioned above breakfast was fine.

After a good visit previously, I was so disappointed with a recent visit. The food was not too the standard you would expect. For £18 to get 3 prawns, some fries and small salad in a chipped bowl.

We've been a number of times for the 'all you can eat breakfast', never had a bad experience staff are always polite and quite to sort any issues, food is always topped up, drinks are always full. Brilliant value for money. We always recommend this place to friends and family.Dietary restrictions: They always ask about allergies and dietary requirementsParking: Small parking area only downsideWheelchair accessibility: Wide doors and no steps inside or outside
