On retirement I had a mix of DB and DC pensions, general investments and cash which Sam advised me on. Sam spent a good deal of time working through my financial situation and my projected requirements and developed a tax efficient and risk appropriate pension and investment plan for me. As we worked though developing the plan Sam always explained the reasons behind his recommendations. I found Sam to be thorough, professional and personable.

We first got to know Sam not long after my diagnosis with cancer in March 2020. Prior to a random Google search we had never heard of him or knew anything about him. We chose well. His reliability, professionalism, pragmatism has proved invaluable and, yes, he's a likeable, re-assuring guy as well!Just as importantly, he is supported by a small team of friendly, client-focussed, knowledgeable and reliable people.Sam and his people now manage all our pensions and investments as part of their association with the Quilter group.I worked in financial services myself for around 30 years and during that time I invariably had meetings with a number of, mmm... interesting characters shall we say. So I feel I can easily spot the wrong sort. Sam however is a rare find and 100% genuine.Unquestionably he works hard to remain at the top of his game. He is knowledgeable, client-focussed and importantly, his pragmatic approach ensures that he gets to the crux of what needs to be done with no 'faffing' around.Statistically I will move to greener pastures a good few years before my wife. I am completely reassured however that following my passing, the financial interests of my wife and other loved ones who I will be introducing to him will be adequately protected now and in the future.
