I have started to take my elderly father who has mixed dementia to play carpet bowls here once a week. ( Although there are more activities available).
Everyone is really friendly and welcoming and happy to explain the rules.
Lovely cafe in there..where we have a drink before we start to play.
We haven't eaten there as yet but the menu looks nice and good value.
Always plenty of people in there eating.
There is a lift big enough for dad in his wheelchair and me.
Toilets are very clean.

The first visit a couple of weeks ago with the veteran breakfast.
Excellent food and a great centre for lots of activities and help.
Lots to mention, however, the website would be a good start.

I worked here for a year and half. At first it was an amazing place. The response team was amazing we had a great assistant manager. However the last few months have just got very bad. The manager is a bully, the new assistant manager is on a huge power trip and is very fake. Acts all nice but really she's waiting for you to say one wrong thing. She then runs to HR then thats it you have disiplinary meetings. She tells staff that you have no friends and everyone is saying things behind your back. She does this to cause problems that isn't there to give her something to do. HR and manager constantly lies to you. When caught out they don't apologise.
Everyone knows your business ( not always the right information).
The money is OK but its really not worth the stress that comes with it. Over 13 people have left in just a few months.
Staff are suffering from mental health. I used to be proud to work for age uk as a responder, however now I am ashamed to say I worked for them. I say worked because they called me out of the blue one day and terminated my employment for trying to cause upset and mischief. Which is not true. I was confidning in a co worker as I was having a hard time coping with what was going off and we was accused of collaborating. You can not say boo to another co worker without it been classed as breeching respectful working.
