What an absolute gem of a cafe. My family and I had a great breakfast here, and the ladies' cooking and serving were really friendly and efficient.
The belly buster is a must try if you dare! Very tasty sausages and bacon were just an added bonus to the perfectly cooked breakfasts we all enjoyed.

Route 18 has everything a Biker really needs from a Café, a warm friendly welcome, good hearty food, hot and cold drinks, plus Loos, and lots of Bike Stuff on the Walls, we loved it.

Brilliant little roadside cafe, the food was hot and fresh. Very good value, the large breakfast in the pictures was £8.50 including a cup of tea.

????? Poor hygiene and disappointing food
I was really put off by the hygiene standards during my recent visit. An older lady working behind the counter (white hair short glasses) coughed directly into her hand and never washed it.
Despite this, she went on to handle a 4-pint bottle of milk, made two teas while touching the cups for another couple, and then served me my bacon bun ? all without washing her hands once.
That?s a serious concern, especially when handling food and drink.
To make things worse, the bacon bun I paid £3.70 for only had two small pieces of bacon in it ? definitely not good value for money.
I won?t be coming back anytime soon, and I hope the staff are reminded about basic hygiene practices, in todays world people should know better.
