The prep school is totally unsuitable building to use as a school, treacherous and indeed dangerous walk to drop children off and pick up, on a very busy main road and intersection, absolutely no parking nearby, parents forced to park in residential streets in surrounding area, the only outside space is a small tarmac playground adjacent to the busy main road, so fresh air limited to car exaust fumes. The prep school has, no onsite IT or computer suite, no PE facilities or green space, no specialist art facilities, no science labs, no dining facilities, no communal hall large enough to gather all the school together, and to top it all the class sizes are relatively large. Communication and response of the admin team is virtually non existent, to summerise this may have been voted one of the best prep schools for acedemic results, but the school facilities and environment leave alot to be desired.

The best primary school in Grimsby, by a very long distance.Families travel from all over Lincolnshire and the Humber area, to have their children schooled here.St Martin's Prep is rightly renowned for its pupils achieving excellent results and the vast majority of the pupils do gain grammar school places, after passing their 11+ exams. Most of the children go on to grammar schools at Caistor, Louth and Alford. The classes are very small, usually no larger than 20 children per class, and often much smaller. The teachers are great and are very experienced, with the lessons being interesting, fun and challenging, and which the kids actually like attending. It's also a happy school, which the children all seem to be very proud of. It's cool to achieve good results at St Martin's and the kids are rightly applauded and celebrated for this. The fees are very competitive, with discounts for siblings, and are a fraction of the cost of similar schools elsewhere. I know, as I sent my children to different private schools in another city we previously resided in, before moving to this area.My child attended this school and has very fond memories of the place. He also passed his 11+ exams with ease and was very well prepared for grammar school by St Martin's.I can thoroughly recommend St Martin's to any parent wondering if a school like this is the right place for their child. In my honest opinion, I really can't see any downside, especially if you want a fantastic education for your child, in a happy, nurturing environment. My child adored their time here.Worth every penny!
