My NHS dentist went private about 4 years ago and despite being on waiting lists for 6 dentists (2 since gone private) I had to find a private dentist when I got problems. Having reviewed all those in the area settled on Shakespeare House as great value for money.I attended for a emergency appointment last Friday and was met with a very welcoming supportive team . Unlike most dentists the waiting room was not covered with adverts for dental, schemes , insuranceand teeth whitening programmes but a calm relaxed atmosphere .Service was quick efficient and caring. . I had a sign up fee , 2 extractions, a tooth added to my plateand a scale and polish. This was far better value that others I looked at and will now use them as my regular dentist

So here is my horrible and painful story.Around 5 mount's ago I had a visitation to the studio in question, for the installation of a double crown on my upper right side. Few weeks prior to that appointment, I was there with the reason I explained to the dentist that I was getting food between my last tooth that had a crown already and my next tooth. The dentist told me that my crown has shifted back from years of chewing. And he suggested, not the installation of a new, better fit crown but grinding my next tooth and installing a double one so the second tooth can support the back one. My biggest mistake for agreeing!! So I came back few weeks later for the installation of my new double crown, and after it was done, he grabbed a peace of flossing tape and started pressing super hard and saying proudly that is a perfect fit between my crown and my next tooth and that I'll not have food going there anymore! I paid and went back to my car. Immediately I took down my sun visor and checked my new crown, when I I saw on the inside of my jaw you can see the metal part of my ceramic crown that was not just exposed but not even touching my gum line.!! I went immediately back in the studio, and I confronted the dentist in the hallway. What he told me is shocking, he told me that this is called a dentist hook and is used in the future for the removal of the crown if necessary.! I don't know why I didn't say anything. 12 days have passed and after that I was getting extreme pain and massive amount of food between my crown and my next tooth. Normally for many many years I use a water flosser. But I went in front of the mirror, and when I lifted my lip I WAS SHOCKED. The Gap between the crown and the tooth was big enough to put a whole toothpick! I texted the dentist on the next day, and his message was disgusting. I explained that That I have constant food getting there and is very painful, and I told him that that crown is not to size, and either he didn't make the measurement correctly or the person who makes the crown's for him did poor job. And he replied that that is not the case!! And that I must have chewed to hard and moved the crown back. Which I haven't done. Because I barely ate on that side to let my gums heal properly.! I never contacted him again!.........so I have 2 more perfect crowns in my mouth so I know a good installation of one. That person lied about the first thing saying that is a dentist hook(and not simply the crown being to low and not sitting correctly on the gum)! And second LIE, that the contract between the crown was super tight and he was actually pressing with the floss on the crown itself to make me feel and think he did a good job!! Absolutely unprofessional, and disgusting acting and behaviour from a person that treats with human health! And on top of all that the next few months I can barely sleep at night from extreme headache in my right side of my head! I few constant blood and disgusting taste in that part of my mouth, and all that flossing and water flossing, and brushing is not helping. At the current time I'm looking for a new dentist, to fix that expensive nightmare I went through!!So please, please stay away from "Shakespeare House Dental Practice" for your own good!

We did a lot of research to find a good private dentist about 5 years ago after bad NHS service and it paid off. Excellent quality and service. The staff generally are friendly and efficient and it is a reasonable price. Mr Yankov is a terrific dentist, talks everything through with you and is very personable. I had to have some work done for the first time in ages recently and felt little discomfort. The aftercare is good too.
